I have exactly one (1) truly Salty Opinion about the MCU. I feel I should stick it under a cut so folks can scroll past it (it involves Tony.)

I hate hate haaaaaaate it when people refer to Tony as “Peter’s real father” or whatnot. Is he a good father figure? Absolutely! But Uncle Ben is Peter’s real father, despite his unflashiness and probable poverty, and I guess…

…as someone who most probably will end up being a adoptive parent, with all the trials and tribulations which go with that, I wish he was the one who got the “real” label.

Character Meme – Jane Foster and Mantis -xingshining

Jane:

general opinion: fall in a hole and die | don’t like them | eh | they’re fine I guess | like them! | love them | actual love of my life
hotness level: get away from me | meh | neutral | theoretically hot but not my type | pretty hot | gorgeous! | 10/10 would bang
hogwarts house: gryffindor | slytherin | RAVENCLAW | hufflepuff
best quality: Her curious nature and pursuit of knowledge
worst quality: It’s hard to say really. Gets caught up in her work too much? But Jane doesn’t really have any terrible qualities. She’s lovely
ship them with: Thor!
brotp them with: Dr Helen Cho (I think they’d get along if only they were allowed to friggin’ meet) and Valkyrie (ditto, although I think it might take them some time to really be friends)
needs to stay away from: The Marvel executives
misc. thoughts: God I hope she does make it back to the MCU, somehow, even in just a cameo or something

Mantis:

general opinion: fall in a hole and die | don’t like them | eh | they’re fine I guess | like them! | love them | actual love of my life
hotness level: get away from me | meh | neutral | theoretically hot but not my type | pretty hot | gorgeous! | 10/10 would bang
hogwarts house: gryffindor | slytherin | ravenclaw | hufflepuff …..this one’s really hard to call
best quality: She’s so unfailingly sweet and nice
worst quality: Like me, is terribly timid
ship them with: Nebulaaaaaa
brotp them with: GAMORA, DRAX, all the other Guardians, gosh I love how she got a whole family
needs to stay away from: EGO, but thankfully he’s dead. Thanos too, aaaarrrgh
misc. thoughts: I hope she gets a moment to really shine, power-wise, in Infinity War!

is it just me or does everyone in space in the mcu significantly happier than everyone on earth?

mcu earth: we’re fighting each other and trust is a hard thing to come by

mcu space: COLORS! SPACE! LIFE LONG FRIENDSHIPS

mcu earth: no one trusts anyone anymore which is tearing friendships and relationships apart

mcu space: FAMILY TIES ARE MENDED AND WE LOVE LOVE BRO

mcu earth: our lives are being destroyed by our guilt and loss

mcu space: FUCK YEAH TURN UP THE MUSIC

Because I’m tired of the “Steve sucks at modern technology” trope.  He was picking up and using HYDRA tech that was powered by the tesseract in WWII. And user interfaces were pretty un-intuitive back then — knobs labeled in German or French, most likely.  And think about the number of dials and thingamabobs on an airplane control panel!  Yes, he’s a man out of time, but it’s probably the social stuff that’s much harder to adjust to.  (You can tell he’s recently-thawed because he still insists on wearing at least a button-down shirt and suspenders when out in public.)

I love where this goes.
