I think there’s some significant and understated tragedy in the Brick referencing Javert’s heart as being made of wood as opposed to the Musical, where it’s referenced as made of stone.
Stone is not alive.
Wood was once a living, growing thing, murdered by time, circumstance, or to arguably serve some greater purpose.
Wood is so much worse than stone, I think.
