Star Wars is a series that helps to inspire hope among fans. Whether it is through Leia’s determination to lead or Padmé’s willingness to do what she thinks is right, the women of the Skywalker family have inspired children for decades, and we’re just talking about the Skywalkers! That’s not even getting into the rest…
Two men and a teenage girl have been found guilty of killing Dr Gary Jenkins in a horrific homophobic attack at a Cardiff park last year. Jenkins, who was openly bisexual, was brutally beaten and left for dead by the trio in Bute Park in the early morning hours of 20 July 2021. The consultant…
When I first heard about this story, and the frankly horrifying remarks from the prosecution, I assumed it had happened several decades ago and the murders only recently brought to justice due to advances in forensic technology.
Nope. It happened last year. I literally had to go back and check as I scrolled down. Seven months ago.
No, actually the “question at the heart of this debate” is, why do YOU (essentially just a rich person with opinions) merit being listened to as though you’re an expert here? https://t.co/f6UKe9gcTj
He got a lot of shit for this from the usual suspects (maybe… don’t click through to the whole thread), but I’m so proud of him for standing up to JKR and her constant slow drip of bigotry. It’s nice when actors you admire turn out to be good people.
Remember the BBC’s anti-trans article from last week? It got even worse. The person quoted most prominently in the article, the one now known to be a rapist, it turns out the BBC probably knew about the accusations against her all along-
The BBC article strongly implied no other trans women would talk to them, but @ChelseaPoe666 did, and she told them about Lily Cade’s accusers pic.twitter.com/mIZCT7b7Oi
-and published anyway, for no reason other than to demonize trans women. Wait. It gets even worse from there, too. Yesterday Lily Cade published what can only be called a manifesto on her own blog, in which she called for the lynching (yes, really, this really happened) of prominent trans women including Caitlyn Jenner, Fallon Fox and the Wachowski Sisters. I’m led to believe at least some of the people she named know about it and have taken steps to protect themselves, but she was also threatening all trans women in the most revolting and violent terms, and-
-Well, the BBC didn’t report on it. Why would they? Not many media outlets did. Newsweek did, if you want to have a look and see what Cade said without having that bile injected directly into your eyeballs. But for the most part, in Britain, just total and complete silence.
This has just been one of the worst weeks I’ve ever witnessed for LGBTQIA people in the UK. I posted some of the information about Cade and the BBC on one of the forums I go to and I got this in response:
Which I’m posting here because it is a perfect snapshot of the UK’s attitude right now to the abuses going on under their nose.
Absolutely living for the fact that in ancient Greece, it was said that when Apollo was drunk he created people with the “wrong” genitalia,, which, first of all, means that 1. trans people are not a new thing, we’ve always been here and we’ve always found ways to justify and explain our existence, and 2. the way that we chose to explain ourselves at one point was, “Yeah, the sun was wasted as hell when he made me, but it’s cool.” and that is fucking awesome
christians: god makes no mistakes
ancient greeks: actually sometimes god os just really fucking wasted

Oscar-nominated Juno actor and star of Umbrella Academy Elliot Page has come out as a non-binary and transgender. Many may know them as Ellen Page, however, from here on out, the public should refer to them as Elliot Page. The actor shared their experience on their Instagram page. “I want to share with you that…
In the UK today started with the news that the formerly inclusive Lush company had been donating to anti-trans charities, plus of course all this, and it ended with Elliot. It’s been a bit of a rollercoaster.
