In spite of how much hatred there is towards the lgbtq+ community, the little signs of acceptance make me incredibly happy. My brother referring to a trans woman on tv as a woman. Girls holding hands getting smiled at by other girls. All-gender restrooms getting created. How the gsa at my school made rainbow pins, and you find a kid in every friend group with one. How I’m able to talk about liking more than one gender with my friends. When a man casually mentions his boyfriend, and he is just greeted by smiles. Although they seem small, they are so huge to me.

since it’s a scary time to be trans: refuge restrooms is an app which maps gender-neutral/single-stall restrooms. it’s community-mapped, so it’s possible you might be the first person to log the restroom locations, but hopefully it’ll help some people.

please reblog this post if you’ve got trans followers. stay safe.

For my non-trans followers: please consider getting the app just so you can add neutral restrooms to the map when you run across them. Simple way to help.

in 1994 when green day first became famous, they invited pansy division, an openly gay punk band, to open for them for the entire dookie tour knowing full well the responses would be mixed. in 2016/2017, on their revolution radio tour, green day chose only female led punk bands to open for them to help create recognition for these artists in a male dominated scene. this band has always been using their voices for the right reasons and i love them so much for that.

And Against Me! Is opening for them too! A band fronted by a trans woman! Fuck yeah Green Day
