Yondu just grunted. “Kraglin, gimme the Tune.”
“Zune, captain.”
“Whatever.”
Kraglin passed it through the bars and Yondu took it like he was handling a rare jewel.
”My sister admires fire as nature’s greatest weapon,” Gamora said firmly. “She does not use it to cook.”
“Oh, that is a shame,” Mantis said, rather wistfully. “I hear the kitchen is the best place to make conversation.”
“I’ll add her,” said Gamora after a moment.
And she knew it was just a dream, of course. Despite what people muttered about her in the Hogwarts halls, she could tell dreams from reality, thanks very much. But it was nice to have Ginny with her in an unguarded moment.
“I’ll grant, that was pretty damn funny,” said Ginny. Fireworks were going off all around her and reflecting in the light of her eyes.
“You have but one flaw, my lady,” said the other woman. “You are vain.”
“Think you so?” asked Enjolras, putting down her hairbrush.
“Yes,” said Grantaire, “but you have every reason to be.”
“Lower it,” said Joly warningly. His head was resting on his hand despondently. “Enjolras is in no mood for joyous behaviour today.”
“Oh, my friend,” said Grantaire. “This is not joyous behaviour.”
“You know what? I don’t like you either,” Betty said to it. It did nothing, being a crown and all. Betty found herself suddenly remembering a book she’d read as a child: The Lord of the Rings. That thought was no help whatsoever, but did send an unpleasant stab of extra dread through her.
It was a really strange sensation, being used to being… happy. It was confusing, but it was sure as hell better than what he’d left behind.
“Sure, babes,” he said down the phone, “I’ll order us some takeout.”
“Thanks babes,” said Peter. “Also, don’t call me ‘babes’, babes.”
Finn had not expected her to sound so uncertain. She had seemed perfectly sure of herself mere minutes ago. Had it really been only minutes? Gods.
“We go tell General Organa that her son is dead,” he said.
