Star Wars for the fandom thing? (it was the only thing I recognized I don’t think has been asked) -enkitude

Aw NICE I have so many for Star Wars

….wait, d’ya mean the movies themselves or the fandom? NEVER MIND I WILL DO BOTH

1) More LBGT characters in the movies. Or…any. It’s long overdue. Chirrut and Baze could’ve been husbands with one throwaway line of dialogue! I would change that immediately

2) I would change the fandom constantly using the prequels as a punchline/an exercise in gatekeeping etc, I love them and a lot of folks do

3) I would also change…pretty much the whole fandom, present company excepted, because it is terrible and bigoted and cruel in pretty much every way

4) I would change Watto because he is very much an antisemitic stereotype, and a very obvious one that I can’t believe no-one looked at and went “wait a minute…” >:(

5) More ladies

I’ve realized: I want to ask you the top 5 things meme specifically for the Spider-Man fandom. -windona

Oooh neat. Well it is a huge and ancient fandom, so there’s a lot to wanna change….

1) Stop pitting the women against each other! MJ, Gwen, Felicia, they’re all great so just quit it. Yes, even you, Emma Stone

2) PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD STOP making gross rape-y porn of the female characters. I see it every fucking time I go in the tag for any of the Spider-Man women and I am SO sick of it. Actually that should really be #1. I would change that in a heartbeat if I could

3) (I’m noticing a trend here) Stop judging the actresses cast to play Spider-Man characters by their looks! Shaliene Woodley got it for being “ugly”, Zendaya apparently has “the wrong skin colour” etc (which is racism as well obviously), and even back in the old days I remember Mageina Tovah being mocked for her looks even though she wasn’t even playing a main or canon character. (Not that that should make a difference.) It’s so wrong.

4) Please no more “fake geek girl” nonsense, luckily I’ve never seen it much but when I have it’s mostly been from male Spidey fans and CHANGE. IT.

5) … actually this whole thing can be summed up by “less misogyny in general” Also less ableism and racism and homophobia and general bigotry please, though I suppose every single big fandom has that :(

les miserables -reluctantheroine

Aha! The good thing about Les Mis is that potentially you can change it in adaptations. Speaking of-

1) Remove the people in charge of the current adaptation, make me showrunner instead

On a slightly more serious note

2) Make Eponine a bit more… Eponine in the musical. She gets portrayed as the perfect tragic heroine and that’s really not her. (Also, I really hope one of these days a production or an adaptation has the guts to make her ugly)

3) Include Azelma in the musical. She doesn’t even need to have lines! I just want her in there somewhere

4) In the novel: Fauchelevent’s death is dealt with in like two lines and that’s terribly unfair. He helped Valjean! He helped raise Cosette! He deserved better, a proper death scene or something

5) Also in the novel: Less sexism would have been nice, obviously, although I gather that considering the era it was written in it could’ve been a lot worse

adventure time -reluctantheroine

Oh god. Another very hard one…I think I’m only gonna manage 3

1) Maybe a few less episodes that’re really kinda surrealist and hard to follow, because I like to know what’s going on

2) Make Bubbline real, indisputable canon. (I mean, I know they’ve probably done all they can in a way, but…)

3) TAKE OUT LENA DUNHAM. (She played Betty.) Needs no explanation I guess

Spider-Man! If someone took that… Thunderbirds. -skalja

I’ll do Thunderbirds! :)

1) [60s series] LESS CASUAL SEXISM AND RACISM PLEASE AND THANK YOU. Like….yeah, it was 1965, I know, and for all I know it might even have been more progressive than some of the shows of its era, but….well.

2) [modern day series] On a much lighter note. Can the characters change their clothes once in a while? I know it’s probably cheaper for them not to, or something, but Lady Penelope really isn’t quite Lady Penelope without outfit changes.

3) [modern day series] Sometimes the CGI models just seem…off? I can’t even explain it. But I would change that.

4) [modern day series] I made a long post about this ages ago, but I do wish they would bring Kyrano back and give him the due denied him in the 1960s. That would be awesome. Even if just for a flashback or something. C’mon, guys

5) This doesn’t refer to either series specifically but I wish ITV had done something special for the show’s 50th anniversary. I mean, look what Doctor Who got! So if I could, I would nip back in time and crash a board meeting and fix that

Tumblr game thing: Indiana jones (weird choice, I know :P) -lunarhobbits

Oooh you’re in luck! I have actually seen Indiana Jones! Granted, it was a while back…

1) Less casual racism, I suppose that one goes without saying

2) More ladies. There’s pretty much just one lady per movie, isn’t there? I remember playing the Lego game and realizing there was only four playable female characters

3) Give Short Round a mention in Indiana Jones 4, why didn’t they do that

4) Cast an Egyptian to play the Egyptian Sallah! Not flippin’ John Rhys-Davies!

5) ….maybe don’t cast Shia LaBeouf? I can’t really explain it, it just felt like he was wrong for his role

Spider-Man: Any continuity you want, or for bonus points, the Spider-Man fandom -windona

:D I’ll do the Raimiverse!

1) Remove that homophobic joke (”That’s a nice outfit, did your husband make it for you?”) from Spider-Man 1. Peter is not a homophobe

2) Have more people of colour in the franchise, we are in New York

3) More Ursula. Seriously, I really think one more small scene of her in Spider-Man 3 somewhere (watching the big fight on TV?) would’ve been great, but it didn’t happen

4) LESS PLOT HOLES there are so many of them

5) …..God thinking about it that’s pretty much all I would change? So I’ll do one for the Spider-Man fandom in general! STOP PITTING MJ AND GWEN AGAINST EACH OTHER THEY WERE FRIENDS

Doctor Who fandom! -allisbornagain

oooooooh

1) please, please no more decrying Amy as “not a real person” and “not relatable” etc etc. She’s a mental illness and sexual assault survivor, that really oughta be enough to get people to think twice before writing her off

2) Acknowledge Clara as bisexual, not straight. She’s kissed and proclaimed love for both women and men, but it gets written off as “queerbaiting” for whatever bizzarre reason.

3) INCLUDE MICKEY in all-companions-not-just-the-women gifsets, he really gets left out :(

4) Whilst the fandom probably actually has a higher percentage of femslash thanks to Vastra/Jenny, more would still be cool

5) This one doesn’t really apply to the fandom on Tumblr, more the wider fandom, but maybe just a bit more respect of the fact that not all the people who made Classic Who were nice people. I’ve heard stories which vary from “offputting” to “what the actual fuck”.
