Spider-Man! If someone took that… Thunderbirds. -skalja

I’ll do Thunderbirds! :)

1) [60s series] LESS CASUAL SEXISM AND RACISM PLEASE AND THANK YOU. Like….yeah, it was 1965, I know, and for all I know it might even have been more progressive than some of the shows of its era, but….well.

2) [modern day series] On a much lighter note. Can the characters change their clothes once in a while? I know it’s probably cheaper for them not to, or something, but Lady Penelope really isn’t quite Lady Penelope without outfit changes.

3) [modern day series] Sometimes the CGI models just seem…off? I can’t even explain it. But I would change that.

4) [modern day series] I made a long post about this ages ago, but I do wish they would bring Kyrano back and give him the due denied him in the 1960s. That would be awesome. Even if just for a flashback or something. C’mon, guys

5) This doesn’t refer to either series specifically but I wish ITV had done something special for the show’s 50th anniversary. I mean, look what Doctor Who got! So if I could, I would nip back in time and crash a board meeting and fix that

replied to your post “Huh, today I found out that Marisa Tomei and Robert Downey Jr used to…”

I was going to say, “Don’t think too much of it, I’ve seen shows where the lead actor was married to the actress playing his sister” and then I remembered that Dexter had that incest plotline so NEVERMIND. Seriously, though, don’t think too much of it.

OH GOD I REMEMBER THAT

…..Spider-Man: Homecoming is such a weird messed-up mystery of a movie right now, but I’m kinda ‘meh’ about the idea of Tony being involved in it too much. And I don’t even really dislike Tony or anything! It’s just, let Peter and May shine on their own without him…!

I don’t think I ever saw the Katrina thing (?!!!!!) but I remember the childfree rhetoric. Normalized to an extent that’s just horrifying in retrospect – I knew it was awful then but it seemed more everyday awful, you know?

It was like…background radiation or something, wasn’t it? Especially since if you questioned it you were usually hit with “WHY DO YOU HATE FREEDOM OF SPEECH? WHY ARE YOU TAKING AWAY MY FREEDOM?” and no-one wanted to take away anyone’s freedoms, not then, not when the various governments across the world seemed to be doing a pretty good job of it themselves.
Of course, this was before I knew what freedom of speech actually meant…

It was so awful and messy. The reaction to Katrina was even worse, though. “These people had so much, and they lost a little of it” I remember someone saying sanctimoniously at the long-gone probably-unmourned-for fandom_wank blog as the death toll rose.
