Star Wars –I am a Jedi, like my father before me. I love that line. It’s probably my favourite line in any movie, simply because it sums up the entitre saga for me. I need to start working it into everyday conversation. -Vader’s redemption. If I’d been in the theatre (I wasn’t, because I wasn’t born yet :p) I’d have stood up and cheered. -In fact, the entire end of ROTJ. If there was a Desert Island Endings, that would be the first one of mine. I could spend an entire LJ entry just talking about it. I just love it…Luke’s expression at his father’s funeral, the music, the hugging, the ghosts…everything. -The Scenes That Spawned A Thousand Fanfictions, namely the TPM council scene and Qui-Gon’s death scene. (Both of which are pretty good scenes in their own right…TPM has more depth to it than a lot of people think) -The ROTS trailer. What?
Spider-Man -Chocolate cake scene. It’s just so…you never see random acts of kindness in a movie, do you? And he’s upset, and she just comes in and forgets to knock and is clearly shy around him, but offers him a sort of friendship anyway, and you can tell from his eyes how grateful he is…it’s just *perfect*. It really made an already fantastic movie. -The hug between Peter and Harry at the end of the first movie (I give up. I really am *this* far away from writing slash about them…) -Train scene. I adore it. You’d like to think you’d have done the same thing had you been on that train, and you know, you probably would. (My optimistic faith in human nature *has* to fail one day, don’t worry ;) ) -Harry’s final scene in the second movie. I want the third one to come out now…
Harry Potter -The Shrieking Shack scene. I used to read it out to my brothers, and do all the voices. I loved being Sirius and yelling like crazy. ;) -The beginning of OOTP, simply because of how long we’d all been waiting -A good percentage of PS, because…I don’t know. I like almost everything about that book… -The Quidditch match in the PS movie, because that was when it occured to me ‘OMG THIS IS ACTUALLY HARRY POTTER ON SCREEN!’
I have suddenly found myself in a Qui-Dooku mood. Methinks I have been spending too much time around certain people (jurious, charmisjess, layren – I’m looking at you)
After almost a month, I have begun to write chapter 63 of Making. It’s weird- I have to persuade myself to start new chapters now (OI! You finish this OR ELSE!) but as soon as I start writing it just comes naturally. Odd.
Anywho, today I have put together a bunch of Dooku/Palpatine/Anakin icons from spoiler pictures (one of them featuring Qui, as well…you’ll know why when you see it. :( ) and the icon inspired a ficletbunny. (which I suppose is a bit like a plotbunny but considerably smaller). I’m not sure whether to try writing it now, before tea, or sometime tomorrow. (I’m going to the theatre this evening. :) )
I think I’ll write it now. Because why not. :)
(BTW, it’ll make more sense if you’ve seen the spoiler pics, but if you’re spoiler free…well, although this is based on the pics, it doesn’t give away anything that the fandom hasn’t guessed already – the only really spoilers are the few grisly details, I guess)

Anakin Skywalker looks at you, eyes blazing, sabres drawn. It’s only natural that he wants revenge. You tried to kill him and his Master, sliced off his arm, and burnt him with lightening. In retaliation, he has chopped off your hands.
Years ago – many, many years ago, you could have joked about that. Somehow. If it had happened to someone else -not you, you were invincible. You were not the most sensitive man alive.
It hurts very much.
Skywalker will kill you. Your Master-you new Master-will laugh. You feel almost sorry for the boy. Killing is not easy. Dying is not easy. Living is not easy.
You feel old and weary.
Nighttime on Coruscant, a long time ago. It’s difficult to see the stars, with all the light from the planet. You are sitting on a chair, searching for something to complain about. Qui-Gon is writing in his journal. Oh, how could you have ever thought that the world was such a terrible place…
Skywalker brings his twin sabres – one of them is yours – to your neck. In one fleeting moment you feel sorry for Obi-Wan Kenobi, and for the man who you considered your son -they were wrong. And so were you.
Then the blades force their way through flesh and bone, and you go to try and find the ones you betrayed for nothing.
WOW Darth Sidious fighting and Mace fighting and Obi-Wan and Anakin fighting and Yoda almost fighting and things blowing up and Padme with Leia’s hairdo and kissing and fighting and spaceships and DARTH VADER OMG.
…wait, I said discussion, didn’t I?
Okay.
Darth Sidious looks GREAT. I wouldn’t be suprised if, after this movie, he’s elevated to the status of Best Sci-fi/Fantasy Movie Villain Of All Time. The few bits of the duel look interesting – there was something that looked like Anakin trying to cut Obi-Wan’s head off with his own lightsabre. Ooh, and there was one shot of Obi-Wan screaming/gasping like he’d just been stabbed. It looked oddly like a mirror of Qui-Gon’s death scene, and will probably generate much discussion.
There wasn’t very much of Padme – there was her and Anakin kissing, her and Anakin hugging, and her turning to Obi-Wan with a horrified expression on her face. No prizes for guessing what he just told her…
Anakin with yellow-red eyes I’m not sure about. I suppose because Maul had yellow eyes? I dunno how that would work, or what point in the movie it’s at. Anyway…it looks good. Then again, Anakin with bright pink eyes would probably look good.
Wookies! You can see Chewie in one of the shots. I was watching it with my brothers and we all went ‘Chewie!’ at once. Heh.
I *think* that shot of something burning might have actually been the Jedi Temple. I’m fairly sure someone said that it would survive, though, so maybe it’s just one bit of it. Hard to tell.
And ‘RISE’? Well…I felt a disturbance in the Force, as if thousands of fanpeople spontaniously combusted…
And can you expect more icons like the one I’ve just used? Hell yes. And very soon.
