SO MUCH but I really, really like “With great power comes great responsibility.” The MCU hasn’t included it in their movies so far but I think it’s right at the essence of what Spider-Man is.
Also I love the characters! Harry, MJ, May, Gwen, Peter himself, even the villains are usually fascinating if not good people…
Friendly reminder that Peter Parker’s true and only father and inspirational figure is his uncle Ben Parker not Tony Stark:
I really hope they bring him up in the next movie. When I say “I wanna see the Spider-Man origin story” I don’t think people always know what I mean – I don’t necessarily wanna see Uncle Ben get shot all over again, I wanna see Ben and May raising Peter, turning him into the hero he became. Because Spider-Man wouldn’t exist without those two. That origin story. Y’know?
I think my only major sore spot with the MCU right now (that I can think of off the top of my head) is the erasure of Uncle Ben. I know that story’s been told a hundred times already, but I don’t necessarily want the origin story, I just want a little acknowledgement that Peter already had a father figure before Tony came along.
It’s the same little sting I get when people erase Owen and Beru from Luke Skywalker’s story, I guess. Just… I suppose want a little more love for the people who were thrown unexpectedly into parenthood, didn’t have money or power, and loved their kid and raised him well anyway. Those folks always get forgotten, you know?
The music was bopping in the club. Multicolored lights drenched the club, making even the dark areas look bright and cheery.
Gwen laughed as MJ put her hands on Gwen’s hips, and they swayed to the music. Gwen responded by putting her arms on MJ’s shoulder, and threading her fingers through MJ’s hair.
It was a light, airy night. No sadness, no heaviness, just fun.
The music sped up, and their dancing tempo sped up in return. Gwen tugged slightly, then configured herself so she pulled MJ into a half turn, leading to MJ’s back pressing up against Gwen’s chest.
“Love you cherry,” Gwen said against MJ’s ear.
MJ laughed. “Love you too,” she said, kissing Gwen in the middle of the club.
