(more…)Edge of Spider-Geddon #4: The one where Peter Parker actually (probably) is into guys
Andrew Garfield said once,
“What if MJ is a dude? Why can’t we discover that Peter is exploring his sexuality? It’s hardly even groundbreaking! …So why can’t he be gay? Why can’t he be into boys?”
Well… not all that long ago a comic came out where it was hinted a version of Peter was into boys. Or one boy in particular.
I’ve wanted to do a Fourteen Favourite Shots for Doctor Who for a while now, but honestly the Clarke-Barrowman allegations put a major damper on me wanting to make anything Who-related. But I guess time has passed, and there’s a new series about to come out now which involves neither of them, so…
I don’t know I’ll necessarily watch season one again, I had some big issues with it even before the news hit, but here ya go. Fourteen shots from the thirteen episodes I guess made me a Who fan.
So Cultured Vultures let me review Amazing Spider-Man #74 for them! You can probably guess it’s not positive, right?

I’m still a big Spider-Man fan, always will be, and I still have plans for harryosborn.net! But god, this run. It took years off my life, I swear.
The MCU is pretty same-y aesthetic wise, but honestly I don’t care because I love the dramatic shots of people flying in the air. Also WandaVision bucks some of the more recent superhero movie trends and gives us bright colours! Really bright colours! Hooray!
Two thoughts I had while making this:
a) I really wish there was more Claymation in the MCU, it can be used to such unsettling effect!
b) Every time Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda looks directly at the camera I feel like I’m about to die.
There’s probably nothing I can say about the quality of Paddington 2 that hasn’t already been said, but sometimes I still forget what a visually gorgeous film it is. Every frame is just, warm. And there are animated sequences included, which well frankly every single film should have.
(Paddington 3 has a lot to live up to.)
Lots of things have happened today, but I remembered just before it ended, today’s the first anniversary of The Promised Land.
It’s a movie which fills me with such insane joy every time I watch it. I’m not kidding when I say it actually helped quite a bit when it came to getting through 2020.
