Okay, so, I figured I should write a mini-fic inspired by this very very tragic gifset what I made. Because we all agree that the 1957 version is utterly heartbreaking AND I WANTED TO FIX IT
Hit the readmore for what couldn’t not be called ‘Nobody’:
There’s so much Les Mis fanart I want to see, but I can’t draw to save my life. So, er…if you want, take these ideas and run with them? Seriously, you don’t even have to tell me.
-Enjolras and Grantaire as old men who survived the barricade
–Any of the Amis as old men who survived the barricade
-More Enjolras drawn as a person of colour (You could still keep his hair light if you wanted)
-Fantine leading Gavroche and Eponine to the afterlife
-All five Thenardier kids HAPPY in a modern AU (I imagine like, a snapshot of them all messing around. Don’t you want those poor kids to be happy I want those poor kids to be happy)
I think it was probably Grantaire because can’t you just imagine him lying there staring up at Enjolras as the dark begins to grow in the corners of his vision and trying to keep his eyes open so that Enjolras can be the last thing he sees and his last thought? ✿◕‿◕✿
Although on the other hand, it would make a heartwrenching twist to have Enjolras have a few seconds of life to glance down and see Grantaire curled around him and continue smiling because he’s failed his revolution and his country and Patria but at least he achieved something in his life – giving Grantaire faith.
Everyone has their own modern-day Les Amis dreamcast: meet mine!
Enjolras: Aaron Tveit Combeferre: Richard Ayoade (IF I CONTRIBUTE NOTHING ELSE TO FANDOM I WANT TO CONTRIBUTE RICHARD AS COMBEFERRE HE IS PERFECT) Jehan: Evanna Lynch Feuilly: Ruth Negga Courfeyrac: (the very, very adorable) Freema Agyeman Bahorel: Gwendoline Christie Bousset: Noel Clarke (anyone recollect his ‘let’s go liberate Paris’ line from Doctor Who?) Joly: Hugh Skinner Grantaire: George Blagden (can you believe, that was the ugliest picture I could find of him?)
