the main character’s blind; and claire is hispanic; and ben is black ;and the actor who plays fisk (vincent d’onofrio) is autistic and the show codes fisk as autistic; and karen refused to be destroyed and instead used her experience to try to expose this huge evil thing; and the women are well developed people and the men aren’t all super-strong-manly-man stereotypes; and there’s lots of different people from different cultures and i am so fascinated by every single character not to mention the acting, the plot, the development, the entire show is so good

BREAKING: Ireland has voted to legalize marriage equality
Ireland made history over the last few days as the first country to legalize marriage equality via referendum.
Technically, the votes are still being counted, but apparently members of the “vote no” team have already conceded and admitted that the “vote yes” crew has won. Early estimates guessed 70% of Irish voters would vote for marriage equality, and it’s looking like that number may be true or higher.
Senior figures from the “no” campaign, who sought to prevent Ireland’s constitution from being amended to permit same-sex marriages, say the only question is how large the “yes” side’s margin of victory will be from Friday’s vote.
“We’re the first country in the world to enshrine marriage equality in our constitution and do so by popular mandate. That makes us a beacon, a light to the rest of the world of liberty and equality. So it’s a very proud day to be Irish,” said Leo Varadkar, a Cabinet minister who came out as gay at the start of a government-led effort to amend Ireland’s conservative Catholic constitution.
“There is going to be a very substantial majority for a yes vote. I’m not at all surprised by that to be honest with you,” said Irish Sen. Ronan Mullen, one of only a handful of politicians who campaigned for rejection.

Last night I dreamed something advertising itself as the first episode of Series Nine of Doctor Who:
Clara was back on Earth, without the Doctor, but someone was leaving her mysterious clues. When she followed them, and after spending some boring dream-time hacking into a computer, she discovered Danny had faked his death and was off skateboarding with some dudebros because he’d never loved her in the first place. Since I was also in this dream, I raised a objection re: logic, but no-one seemed very interested. Clara was very upset and left. So I found the Master and got her to admit she’d cleverly faked the whole thing to hurt Clara, but I think I woke up before Clara found out.
With some editing (the symbolic but overly long dance sequence in the middle would have to go) and leaving me out of it, I actually reckon that would make a pretty good episode…
