Oooh BY THE WAY I stumbled upon some spoilers for the Thunderbirds finale and season 2 and, assuming they are reliable-
apparently we will get Jeff back?!?!?!?!
AKA “Kayo Kicks Everybody’s Ass; May Have Killed A Dude (On A Children’s Show)”
-Or, you know, probably not (children’s show)
-Although she seemed to be enjoying the violence she did commit. Don’t go darkside, Kayo
-Character development for the Hood of all people, interesting
-I assume the “taking back what’s mine” line means that the Hood thinks of Kayo as essentially his property
-Thunderbird Shadow is super cool and I can’t believe it’s taken this long for them to show it
-Surely Scott must suspect what’s going on with Kayo now, what other explanation could there possibly be for the Hood saving her
-This should make for an interesting season finale, that’s coming up soon right? Lemme check…It is! And it’s called ‘Legacy’. Ooooh. Jeff’s legacy? Or the legacy of Kayo’s whole family? (Yes, I still want Kyrano back. Sue me.)
-Also, yes, good episode, very good episode
You know, there was one big opportunity that the Thunderbirds reboot didn’t take and I really wish they had: finally actually doing something with Kyrano. I know everybody remembers him as a slightly problematic stereotype, and I guess to some extent he was, but he was one of my favorite of the puppets because he was usually the only one who actually got to show some emotion when his child was in danger. (Aww, tiny puppet tears!)
Anyway, I don’t think it came up even once in the original show, but apparently in the comics his backstory was that he was a genius-level botanist who created synthetic foods for astronauts, and when I read about that I was like DUDE THIS GUY IS A EXPERT FOOD SCIENTIST WHO YOU’D REALLY WANT IN A SCIENCE LAB AND INSTEAD HE’S THE MANSERVANT WHO’S ONLY THERE TO SERVE DRINKS AND SAY ‘YES MR TRACY’ I KNOW IT WAS THE SIXTIES BUT SERIOUSLY. So I really wish the new show had brought him back, not as a servant, and had him doing space botany. (I hear it’s very in right now.)

These are really good transcripts, wow
last week’s TAG: fun shenanigans on an underwater train
this week’s TAG: our heroes discuss grief, responsibility and the death of their father; the team’s previously put-together leader admits it’s only his incredibly dangerous job that keeps him “from going crazy”, the adorable robot sacrifices itself

Hey, my final Thunderbirds Are Go fancast is finally…um….go! Here they are:
Tumblr fave Sebastian Stan as Scott Tracy
Why-the-hell-didn’t-I-think-of-her-earlier Sarah Jane Adventures star Anjli Mohindra as Tanusha ‘Kayo’ Kyrano
Presumably natural redhead Domhall Gleeson as John Tracy
My eternal fave George Blagden as Virgil Tracy
Cheerful blond Graham Rogers as Gordon Tracy
X-Men guy Lucas Till as Alan Tracy
Bewilderingly-hot-without-glasses Dev Patel as Brains
The borrowed-from-the-actual-voice-cast Sandra Dickinson as Grandma Tracy
The also borrowed-from-the-actual-voice-cast Anjoa Andoh as Colonel Casey
The spookily-unchanged-since-2005 Katie Leung as Professor Moffat
Annnnnnnd returning from the 2004 movie, which had terrible writers/producers but a good casting department:
One-time Doctor-lover Sophia Myles as Lady Penelope
One-time Doctor-botherer Ron Cook as Parker
The endearingly-enthusiastic-about-the-original-movie Bill Paxton as Jeff Tracy
And Ben Kingsley as The Hood, except in Sensible Mode rather than Dubious Cold War Asian Stereotype Mode
And we’re done!
That was really good! Probably my favourite since EOS, in fact.
