  • his brother insists he once ‘had a boner’ for a male football player
  • when Melissa says something along the lines of “I just want to kiss a guy again” Phil repeats that with what sounds like sincerity, and doesn’t correct himself
  • that scene where Phil 2 takes his shirt off in slo-mo whilst romantic music is playing is meant to read as Phil being jealous of the new guy’s good looks, but it does not in fact read that way, at all
  • I thought about ending this with a joke but the more I think about it the more of a plausible headcanon it seems

One TLMOE theory I do have, that involves no spoilers: the basketballs are gone now and they were Phil’s only ‘friends’ for a good long time. Even after he met other people and fell in love with Carol, he still talked to them sometimes and used them to work stuff out. He’s still gonna need to do that occasionally, go off on his own and talk to something, but he can’t talk to the balls anymore –

– So he’ll talk to Mike.

Okay so, he’s probably dead, BUT there is a huge part of me that stubbornly clings to him being alive because: 

1. idk about you but I spent a lot of time rooting for Mike and Phil to find each other again and for him to come back and then get the damn virus is too much for me. TLMOE is probably going to do it. But still. 

2. Watching tv has taught me golden rules: “No face, no case.” “No body, no proof.” “Unless you see them die on screen, they ain’t dead” (and depending on the show the last one might not even be true lmfao). But bottom line: if I don’t see a character physically die, in my mind they’re still out there and alive. 

3. Seriously wouldn’t it be awesome if the group thinks they’re all caught by Pat’s crew and then boom comes Mike Miller??? (Although with this show he’d probably save them and then die with Phil by his side lmfao) 

4. Not a reason for him living but I need more Jason Sudeikis on my screen. 

He’s still probably dead though. 

It’s so hard to call because I know Will Forte did an interview where he said something like, even though it was ambiguous he thought the ending was beautiful and he wasn’t sure about going back on it? And obviously Jason Sudeikis is in EVERYTHING right now (I looked up the film Race because I want to see it tomorrow, and guess what? He’s in that too) so he’d probably never be able to be a TV show regular, but…

…I think ultimately I want Mike’s existence/death to mean something? As it is, it’s just an unfair striking down that makes Phil a better person, and that’s valid, but…I guess I assumed he’d be more instrumental to the show in a way, like it would turn out his space worms were cultivating a possible complete eradication cure of the virus or something. I still wonder about Phil-worm, currently still in the hands of Pat I believe…

ANYWAY best case scenario: he turns up alive at some crucial point, yay! Worst case scenario: show gets cancelled before we ever find out

Let’s do the MCU!

who i will protect at all costs: Natasha, Sam, and Jane Foster
who deserves better: Poor, poor Wanda. I hope we check in on her at some point before the next Avengers movie just to see if she’s okay
who was killed off too early: QUICKSILVER. I mean, it’s sort of obvious why I suppose – the Marvel Studios folks didn’t want their Quicksilver to have to compete with the X-Men Quicksilver….but still. And he didn’t even get a mention in Civil War. >:(
who i used to hate but now i love: I used to be ‘meh’ on Hawkeye…he was just there…but I love him now. I’m a massive sucker for Fictional Dads
who i used to love but now i hate: Not hate, but Tony slid down in my estimation after the whole ‘let’s throw this untrained teenager into a war zone!’ thing.
who needs to be killed off asap: The MCU is getting so crowded that they’re going to have to start killing off major characters eventually (especially since I’m sure a lot of the actors are getting to the end of their contracts), but I have no idea who
who is unfairly hated: JANE FOSTER, who has committed no crime beyond being a passionate and intelligent woman
who is unfairly loved: …..I don’t know
who needs to sort out their priorities: Goddamn Tony
who needs a hug: After CACW, almost everyone. But, Wanda. Poor Wanda. If she’d even let me hug her…
who needs to get out of their current relationship: The characters seem to be doing a good job of that themselves, heh.
who the writers love: Captain America. Which is good because hopefully they WON’T MAKE HIM HYDRA, MARVEL
who needs a better storyline: I wish Jane was coming back and getting a storyline. :( Also, I want a Black Widow movie and a Falcon movie, neither of which we seem to be getting
who has an amazing redemption arc: Almost Loki
who is hot af: Everyone. All of them. They’re all hot
who belongs in jail: ……..Tony, sorry Tony, but…..
who needs to be revived from the dead: It’s probably a bit late to revive Quicksilver now. But it would be worth it to make Wanda happy!

who i used to hate but now i love: PHIL TANDY MILLER. Well, for a given value of ‘love’
who i used to love but now i hate: Melissa is too interesting for me to hate her, but she definitely slid down in my estimation when she basically tortured Phil (by leaving his drinks just outside the perimeter line when he was ‘doing his time’). And when she tried to throw Mike out without a second thought…
who needs to be killed off asap: I don’t think Pat will last past the first few episodes of S3
who is unfairly hated: Actually…Melissa again? Like, you get lots of people on the LMOE facebook page and places saying they hate her and she needs to be killed off, but…yeah she can be horrible but again she’s interesting?
who is unfairly loved: Hmmm, no-one really
who needs to sort out their priorities: Gail needs to kick her alcohol addiction, or she will almost certainly be the next dead body. :(
who needs a hug: Erica, she must be thinking she’s cursed by now
who needs to get out of their current relationship: Hmmm. I’m still kinda rooting for Gail/Todd/Melissa purely on the grounds that you get so few poly relationships on TV, but…it’s probably not going to work.
who the writers love: Carol, and I do too!
who needs a better storyline: Erica badly needs one not revolving around a man. I want to know more about her past! And maybe she’s going to suddenly turn out to be really good with a gun?
who has an amazing redemption arc: Phil bloody Tandy bloody Miller again
who is hot af: All of them
who belongs in jail: Heh, well Erica technically does…
who needs to be revived from the dead: MIKE…..sort of? I mean, the way they did it was lovely, and Jason Sudeklis looks way too busy to commit to being a TV show regular now…but, I want some sort of closure! Like, Phil gets some sort of confirmation that he’s definitely dead, or something. Mike is currently Schrodinger’s Mike. (Heh.) Maybe, like, the last shot of the last series will be Mike turning up not dead or something? Because he still might not be. Damn, the wait for S3 is killing me…
