snototters:

You guys remember Jazzy Rowe, the young black woman who’s roommate smeared used tampons on her backpack? She has a gofundme up for medical bills and student loans.

Due to inhumane behavior, my freshman year of college was a horrifying tragedy. Being assigned a roommate who was out to kill me based on the color of my skin without me even knowing it. Most of you heard my story and know about all these disgusting things that were done to me my freshmen year of college. If you haven’t heard of it go listen to it here: (link).  As a result of my roommates doings I was left sick for months with several bacterial infections. I was hospitalized, had to see several different specialists and take different medications to get my health back on track.

Before I started college I had gotten my self a job my senior year of high school. Each paycheck I earned was used towards buying the things I would need for college and all of that hard work was ruined by my former roommate. Now I am stuck with a bunch of medical and  on going medication bills. Not only that I still have to check in with my primary doctor here and there due to weight loss and check in with a psychiatrist as well. In addition to health, I’m left with a student loan to pay off.

I wanted to start school spring semester of 2018 or at least fall semester of 2018, but due to all thag has happened I’m not able to attend school until Spring 2019. This upset me so much because I feel like my education has been delayed. That’s also not the only thing that upset me. The fact that justice hasn’t been servered on my part upsets me just as much.

Every since this this incident happened a lot of people have been asking about my Go Fund Me page, and here it is. Your donations will be going towards all the expenses I was left with, replacement items, and my future education. Thank you all in advance and god bless.

I’m just super fucking bitter that once the flint water crisis got it’s 15 minutes of fame people stopped giving a shit. The water is still poisoned, people! Donations have plummeted and people have been forced back into drinking and bathing with the water! The medical effects of this are astounding, cases of legionnaires disease have skyrocketed, people are having seizures, people are having weird rashes break out over their body, people (including me!) are having their blood poisoned, and it’s not just lead! it’s coliform bacteria! it’s THMs! it’s all in the water and it gets into the bloodstream and breaks down blood vessels, causing bruising and petechiae and internal bleeding and no one gives a shit anymore and it’s only gotten worse like how many people are going to have to die until people realize this is still a problem

I would like to add that the people of Flint cannot sell their houses, because selling a house with leaded water is illegal. Additionally, households with children can’t stop paying for the water because living in a house without running water is cause for CPS to take their kids. Flint has been living this way for over two years.

The people of Flint are trapped by the legal system. And it is only the most high profile case out many cities with a similar problem.

Because the government has abandoned them, they are dependant on help from the outside. Donate here

If u can’t donate, reblog so someone else can!!!

How to help Guatemala

lovingyouisredforyou:

So a few days ago (June 3, 2018), the Volcán de Fuego erupted in Guatemala. So far, as of today (June 6) at least 82 people are confirmed dead, 300 are injured, 192 are missing, and thousands have had to evacuate. The towns of El Rodeo, San Miguel, Los Lotes, and Alotenango have been buried in volcanic material. The volcano is still in eruptive phase, and even more people could be affected. x x x

If you haven’t heard about this, that’s probably because the news (at least in the United States) has barely been covering it at all. In all honesty, I only learned about it today from a Tumblr post. Even on here, though, I haven’t seen many posts telling people outside of Guatemala how they can help, so I thought I’d compile a list.

Other Ways to Help

If you know of any other ways people can help, please feel free to add them!

As of today, there are 99 people dead and 197 people missing and presumed dead. Even if you’re not able to donate, please reblog this so more people can see it!

The official death toll is now 109, 200 people are missing, and on Thursday, people who had just returned had to re-evacuate because of new lava flows, so please reblog and consider donating if you can!

(You can now also donate to the Center for Disaster Philanthropy

by googling “Guatemala volcano” and clicking “Donate”)

An error? Is this even legal??

35 YEARS FOR A NON VIOLENT DRUG OFFENSE

Fuck you, America’s criminal justice system

This is heartbreaking 💔

his name is Matthew Charles

Ways you can help:

Donate to the GoFundMe raising money for Matthew’s legal costs.

Sign the Change.org petition asking for clemency (though the efficacy of this is sorely debated)

This is awful.

please stop scrolling – help a homeless black person

MUSLIMS ARE GETTING PUT IN CONCENTRATION CAMPS IN CHINA

MUSLIMS ARE GETTING PUT IN CONCENTRATION CAMPS IN CHINA

MUSLIMS ARE GETTING PUT IN CONCENTRATION CAMPS IN CHINA

MUSLIMS ARE GETTING PUT IN CONCENTRATION CAMPS IN CHINA

Links to articles about this in The Independent and The Washington Post.

“Muslims forced to drink alcohol and eat pork in China’s ‘re-education’ camps, former inmate claims
‘The psychological pressure is enormous when you have to criticise yourself, denounce your thinking,’ says detainee”

these are from may 2018.

The majority being discriminated against are called Uyghurs. Khazaks, Uzbeks, and Tajiks are also being ostracized. They are Turkic minorities. They are people. And the world is unaware.

There is an estimated one million people in these so called “re-education camps”. Uyghur people are being forced to assimilate into Chinese culture through marriage. Uyghur children are forced to learn Mandarin and Uyghurqi, the language, is prohibited to be taught in schools. There is a lot of Uyghur unemployment due to ethnic discrimination. Uyghur people are routinely, unjustly imprisoned, and many die. An elderly Uyghur poet was imprisoned. An Uyghur couple my family knows was beaten, and the wife suffered a miscarriage. These are just a few examples of discrimination.

Rebiya Kadeer is fighting for our voices to be heard. She is one of many who was unjustly imprisoned, due to her political activism. She was put on death row and was told to keep quiet or her family would be killed. More than 30 of her relatives have been unjustly detained in the concentration camps. Read her book (Dragon Fighter).

My culture is forcefully being erased. My people are dying. Who is listening? Who can help us?

This is ethnic cleansing.

This is the coming of the second Holocaust. I know that that word cannot be used lightly, which is why I am using it. I hope you all understand the severity of the situation.

Please spread the word. Be aware of this. Tell your friends, your family, anyone who will listen.

Uyghurs can’t reach out for help, but you can on their behalf.

Please.

Intro

Hi everyone!

The reason for this project is simple— to show Kelly Marie Tran some love, following her recent Instagram deletion and deactivation due to the amount of harassment she’s received. Whatever you may think of TLJ or Rose Tico, a real love human being with a heart as big as KMT’s doesn’t deserve to be run off like that.

So, this will be a compilation of art and writing and everything in between that celebrates KMT. She has a fan mail address and so ideally anything submitted would be printable so it can be sent. More details to come on submission parameters.

But please, spread the word and reblog to get as many people on board as possible! KMT is a ball of sunshine and it’d be great to have the positive outweigh the negative.

@sarah531

Oh that’s a really good idea! I wish I could draw, man. But I really want to show her how much she’s appreciated!

Happy Pride Month to those who can’t celebrate it

tebya:

Pride Month is coming up! As a gay Russian, I feel the need to bring this up again.

Please do not forget about our LGBT brothers and sisters in Chechnya.

LGBT persecution in Chechnya, Russia is still going on. Gay people are beaten, kidnapped, tortured, and killed simply for existing. There are legitimate concentration camps for the LGBT in Chechnya, that have existed for at least a year or more. Hundreds have gone missing and been killed. Western media has no longer given this crisis any time, and help has completely slowed down. Please do not forget about this again. Please do not let LGBT Russians die without at least trying to help.

Here is a donation link to the Russian LGBT network, which can give direct help to those affected in Chechnya (English): https://help.lgbtnet.org/chechnya-en

Here is another link: https://www.dalecameronlowry.com/how-to-make-donation-russian-lgbt-network/

(The actual Russian LGBT website, lgbtnet.org, is not working on my computer. Otherwise I would link it directly.)

Please keep your islamphobia, xenophobia, transphobia, homophobia, and racism off this post. Thank you, and pray for Chechnya.
