my mother is struggling to find a job and it’s likely we won’t find one for the summer, and she’ll be back on her feet in mid august since she’s a teacher.
and because she’s a teacher,
no she does not get pay during summer. we don’t get any money for the entirety of the summer. and i really don’t understand why i keep getting asked that
she is taking surveys and ubering and trying to make money but it isn’t enough money at all to pay for bills or food.
i have no ways to make money either, and i can’t get a job at age 15 in my city, it’s actually impossible
i really need money at this point. we have barely anything to actually get some and i’m weak from not eating much and i need money for anything like clothes, food, bills and even refilling medication soon.

As y’all know, things have been…tough for me for awhile now.
Between my first seizure, sepsis, a brain cyst, a herniated disk, trigeminal neuralgia, severe disruption to my sleep schedule, more frequent dislocations, worsening fatigue, increasing pain, and more, my health has been a disaster.
On top of all this (and probably, at least somewhat, related to all this), I had a severe mental breakdown related to the anniversary of the last time I was raped. Though the initial breakdown eventually passed, I never recovered.
It’s been one thing after another on top of another for so long now. I haven’t had a chance to breathe, a chance to get better.
Now, I’ve become unable to work. I’ve been bed-bound most of each day for the past couple weeks. Today, I officially had to quit my job. I tried to take a leave of absence under FMLA, but none of my doctors would sign off on the paperwork. Each claims that my problems fall under a different specialty and that someone else should sign the paperwork.
For the past three years, I have been the sole provider for myself and my husband. My husband had to stop working three years ago due to his own health issues and only was able to start working again as of a month ago. He’s working as a substitute teacher which means his pay is inconsistent and not great.
On top of this, we will be losing insurance.
I don’t know how we’re going to manage. Between fucked up brain chemistry and our circumstances, I have been incredibly depressed and suicidal recently. I’m struggling to believe that anything will get better.
But, when the paranoia and anxiety release me temporarily, I’m able to see that there could still be good days ahead if I let myself get there. But, if I’m going to get there, I’m going to need help.
I need help to access medical care. I am on several medications that help manage various aspects of my mental and physical help. Many of these medications cause severe, potentially life-threatening, withdrawal if stopped abruptly. As of right now, I may be looking at having to stop one of my medications within the next few days as I’m not sure I’ll be able to afford it.
To anyone reading this, if you are able to help, even a little, I would so greatly appreciate it. Any contribution goes to supporting two queer, chronically ill, neurodivergent people get by during a trying time.

Yesterday (4/2/2018), my roommates handed me a notice that terminates our housing agreement. My son and I, due to their family issues, need to leave/be gone by the 30th of this month. Prior to moving in on the stated date (10/23/2017), my son and I were homeless for a month after being evicted from our previous home that we shared with my mom and brother. My grandma allowed my mother to move in with her, but my family does not want to help otherwise. We were couch hopping, staying with friends, or my grandma would take my son in and I would have to sleep in the car. We live in the suburbs of Chicago and the winter was very cold.
Currently, we have no place to stay and have bad credit due to my dad, but my mother is trying to use her tax return to pay off some debts so we can find a place to stay by April 30th. That’s where we need your help.
My mom and I both have credit scores in the 500’s and the lowest credit score needed to rent an apartment or townhome is 650. We need to stay in the area for work, and the cheapest townhome we could find is $1,349 a month. In order to get In to the townhome, we need to pay 2 months rent, plus a $70 background check each for both her and I. Below is the townhome cost, and my credit score.
The combined cost of the background check and 2 months rent is $2,838.
Currently, we only have $1,000 and we need to use that to pay off a few bills she has in order to raise her credit score. My mom works 3 jobs And none of them pay very well. My mom is a teacher’s aid for disabled students in an elementary school, she cleans houses, and she works part time at Kohl’s. Due to harassment by my ex, and parenting full time, it has been difficult to find a job. However, I am supposed to start at a childcare place on the 15th for $9/hr from 11 am to 4 pm.
None of these incomes combined will be able to make enough to get into a place on time, so we are coming here to ask for help to raise $3,000. The full $2,838 will be for the home, and the extra $62 will be for emergencies or food, but is not necessary.

In a bid to cement their status, some have married in order to secure residency, with others falsifying papers. But Esenia and her family do not have that choice.
“It’s a smart decision to not show that you’re a lesbian. But sometimes you just get tired, and tired of lying. Sometimes you think, “maybe we should break up, just to save everyone,” – but that’s cowardice, it’s a lazy decision,” she said.
“We have stopped thinking about our future, we’re just thinking about our child. We’re really hoping to live somewhere where we won’t be hated. We’re really aiming for that, and it’s harder than it was before. I don’t know really how we can live better here.”
