I’M GONNA CRY AT HOW MUCH I LOVE THEIR FRIENDSHIP AND HOW MUCH THESE TWO WOMEN SUPPORTED EACH OTHER AND RELIED ON EACH OTHER, it’s a simple story, but the sheer weight of Padme’s trust in Sabe and Sabe’s loyalty to her Queen is really touching
[Sabé] remained suspicious of the circumstances of Amidala’s death, joining forces with Bail Organa, ally of the late Queen. In her service to the House of Organa, Sabé was employed as an envoy to establish resistance cells across the galaxy, gather and spread information, and handle the distribution of matériel to said rebel groups. Sabé also had the opportunity to interact with young Princess Leia Organa and her friend Winter. Sabé tutored the girls; Organa in matters of court etiquette and diplomacy, and Winter in security and bodyguard tactics. These skills would later greatly serve both as agents of the Alliance to Restore the Republic.
I’m just saying that it’s very likely one of the handmaidens of naboo didn’t have ideas befitting her station.
I mean, the danger of taking a bunch of teenage girls and teaching them how to read the political fabric of the galaxy while also acting at all times as befits a queen, plus inculcating in them the belief that at any time they may be asked to lay down their lives, is that that’s what you get.
you basically created a bunch of whipsmart girls who give no fucks, which means that when padme says “we’re going to relax our stance the tariff with regard to agricultural products from Chandrila,” sabe says, “no, that’ll badly impact the northeastern rural sectors”
and padme says, “I was elected queen,” and sabe says, “well, I’m the one acting as queen in that meeting so—”
……………which is also another way of saying that padme probably angrily made out with sabe sometimes, in between really intense political discussions about economic projections and polling numbers.

Except…she doesn’t put aside make-up and dresses during the Second Battle Theed. The above picture is her actual outfit! And it’s part of their strategy, because Gunray has to think she’s Amidala. AND IT WORKS.
My point is that you can do make-up and shooting at the same time, and if you’re as awesome as Sabé is, you can throw intrigue and generalized brilliance on top.
