As a paraprofessional, I work with clients who can be extremely aggressive (biting, punching, charging, etc) and many suffer from PTSD, Austism, ODD etc. I do feel afraid in that moment but I am a TRAINED professional, emphasis on the TRAINED part. I don’t have a gun on me because I was taught to take down/restrain w/o one. How tf am I, a 5”2 woman working w/18-22 year old 6 foot plus men, able to take down aggressors w/o a problem but the mf police CAN’T?

Reminder to followers that police forces are often just as ableist as they are racist. In Anthony Hill’s case this was an unjust double whammy for him. Change needs to occur now.

I am a care worker and we’re trained to restrain people who are hitting/kicking/strangling you, whilst causing as little pain as humanly possible. Seriously, they drill that into you on day one. You do whole classes practicing these moves in case you have to use them. Have I used them? Absolutely, and whilst afraid, and whilst things that could be used as weapons to badly hurt me were in the mix.

I would point and laugh at the pathetic human specimens who can’t deal with an aggressor without shooting them, if the whole thing wasn’t a horrible combination of racism, ableism and police brutality that’s about as far away from funny as you can get.

Brown Lives Matter (1/27/15): The police have done it again. They have taken the life on another unarmed teenager, this time a 16-year old girl by the name of Jesse Hernandez. After shooting her multiple times, they dragged her lifeless body out the car and proceeded to cuff and search her, rather than seek medical attention. The death harkens back to another young, unarmed Latin@ the Denver police killed last year, Ryan Roquillo. The officer in that death was eventually cleared. Prayers for peace and justice to this young girl’s family. #staywoke #farfromover

Aylesbury Crown Court was played a video from the in-car camera of the officers laughing before PC Thomas chased Mr Ali on foot, in Luton.

PC Thomas, 33, of Welwyn Garden City, denies racially aggravated assault.

On 20 February, PC Pitts was driving when the two officers saw Mr Ali and they were heard laughing as he started jogging, the court was told.

PC Thomas was seen by a neighbour to get out of the car and attack Mr Ali by the bins, the jury was told.

He is then alleged to have struck Mr Ali again on the floor of his home.

Mr Ali ran from the hall to the back of the house, followed by the officer, but was stopped by his sister who got in between them.

PC Pitts left the car and also went into the house.

When they were asked what they were doing, the officers said Mr Ali may have been a burglar, or a robber and could have had a knife and stabbed someone. (x)

Faruk Ali, 33, was wearing flip flops and a long green coat when he was spotted by PC Christopher Thomas who is accused of calling him a : “F….. P…” (x)

An Unarmed Black teen was just shot dead by police on #BlackOut Day.

19-year-old unarmed teen, Tony Robinson, was shot and killed by police in Madison, Wisconsin last Friday night. According to several news sources, Madison Police Chief Koval said they received calls looking for a man who had committed battery and was jumping in and out of traffic One of the police officers, Matthew Kenny, spotted Tony and then proceeded to follow him into his apartment and forced his way in after claiming to “hear a disturbance inside”. the unarmed teen then “got into an altercation” with the Officer who then shot him 5 times in the chest, and dragged him out to the street while he bled out. He was later rushed to the hospital where he later died.

Large Protests have already begun in Madison and are quickly spreading all over.

Wendell Allen was killed Wednesday evening, March 7th in the stairwell of a Gentilly house by a single gunshot to the chest, fired by Officer Joshua Colclough. Police officials have acknowledged that Allen, a former high school basketball standout, was unarmed.
