AU where everything is the same, but Kylo Ren admires his grandmother too

This is way better.

None more goth.

This is fantastic but now I really want the films to have Kylo have just as completely wrong a view on Padmé as he does on Anakin.

I mean I refuse to believe Luke & Leia still have no idea who their mother is. Luke can talk with force ghost!Anakin. Leia seems to have some weird force memories of Padmé.  There are still people alive from the time of the Republic.

Luke in particular already shows in interest in his mother in the films. Leia is more complicated-she never has the reconciliation with Anakin (or any real type of relationship with Vader really) and clearly regards Bail as her father. Yet she does have the memory link to Padmé and doesn’t seem bothered with Luke’s querying after her real mother. So I find it difficult to think she’d have no interest in discovering who their birth mother was.

Now the interesting bit there is that once they discover who their mother was, Leia probably knows who

Padmé Amidala is given Bail was a close friend of hers and it’s quite possible he’d have told Leia about her-as an ally against the destruction of the Republic who died in the transformation into the Empire. Besides Padmé

was a pretty public figure.

So what did Han and Leia they tell Ben about her?

And what did the First Order tell Kylo?

What’s Kylo Ren’s idea of Padmé?

Was she Darth Vader’s first betrayer, trying to stop what he started and then when she failed she passed their children onto two of his main enemies? The original version of his mother who rejected all Vader’s philosophy and aims?

Or was she Palpatine’s

protégé, a natural partner for Vader who was betrayed by those who where supposed to help her and stole her children for themselves rather than giving them to their father or even her own family?

I really want to know this, too

The Skywalker Flame by Brian Ashmore

Now this painting has a very interesting story. It’s actually Anakin and Padme with baby Luke. The artwork was done by Brian Ashmore but it’s a 15 yr old depiction of them, 6 years before Padme’s name existed. It could very well be the first image of Padme, which I find fascinating.

The image has now been turned into card for the Galaxy 4 topps set, and on the back of the card there is a description of the picture. However the artist himself will tell you more about the card and its funny little back-story if you travel over to his blogspot, Brian Ashmore Illustration, where he posted a small article about it. The story behind it is as interesting as the picture.
