“Remember how last year I kept saying The Winter Soldier will give you a Sebastian Stan Problem? Well, Civil War is going to make it much worse because there is a ton more Bucky, and this time he even talks. This is Chris Evans’s movie, but depending on how the editing shakes out, Stan could end up a co-lead. The relationships between Cap and Bucky, and Cap and Iron Man, are what define Civil War.” (x)

People are choosing sides in Civil War as if it was simply just Steve = Good, Tony = Bad or vice versa

But it’s really not that simple, they both are doing what they think is right. On certain levels, they both are.

Steve is protecting his friend, who truly has no fault in the crimes he committed as The Winter Soldier. But he also single-handedly created a war over a single man, which affects hundreds of people.

Tony is just trying to bring some justice to the victims of The Winter Soldier (read: Winter Soldier, NOT Bucky) and obviously he knows that Bucky is not at fault. But Tony is also deeply connected to this, lets not forget his parents were a target of Winter Soldier.

Neither party is completely justified or right in their position. Neither party holds the moral high ground. Its a complex issue with thousands of factors, not everything is black and white.
