It is Star Wars and it is also Christmas!

However, Star Wars does not have a Christmas! Or any kind of holiday season, I gather. That did not stop me from writing this spoiler-laden, slightly Clone Wars-borrowing-from take on A Christmas Carol. Luke is about to be visited by three spirits! Ooh yes.

(planning message forthcoming, BUT NOW IS SAD HEADCANON O’CLOCK) okay okay so Luke got his green lightsaber crystal from Obi-Wan’s house. Presumably Obi-Wan did not have access to a TON of crystals (it seems to be a bit of an ordeal to get them from Clone Wars canon). Thus, what if the green crystal Luke used came from Qui-Gon’s old lightsaber?

#this moment  #is the best moment  #dressed in black  #declaring himself a jedi  #like his father  #who is lying on the ground at his feet  #luke is defiant and earnest and so very very good  #he is a good man  #and he is the best of the jedi  #what they should have been  #obi-wan and yoda tried to teach him not to feel fear or anger  #to reject those feelings out of hand  #but luke says no and he lets himself feel fear and anger  #he just doesn’t let these emotions control him  #he works with them to do what’s right  #to save his friends on cloud city  #to redeem his father  #luke is the best of us  #and he is a jedi like his father before him  #i did not properly appreciate you as a child  #but i do now
