han solo

okay, I can accept that the galaxy far far away has a genre of music called ‘jizz’

I can accept that it has like a billion planets with just one or two single cultures each

I can accept that bb8 wouldn’t really be able to roll across sand

I can even accept that jar jar binks exists

but the one thing I can never accept about star wars is even the inkling of the idea that since leia is force sensitive and han is not, they’ll never meet in the afterlife

I was reading this article and I found these parts so nice and beautiful.

On Han Solo death scene.

“There are reports of adults breaking into tears during that scene, but it’s probably not the shock of that lightsaber stabbing through their favorite character that triggers the waterworks: It’s more likely what Han does with his final moments of life, reaching out to touch the face of his lost son. It’s not Han Solo’s fate that is sealed in that moment, it’s Kylo Ren’s. And the cruelest act in Star Wars was followed by one of its most tender.”

Anthony Breznican: “So what was it like on set for that scene?”

J.J.Abrams: “It was really chilling. Seeing these two actors, they weren’t chewing up the scenery. They were just doing this thing in a way that, frankly, was disturbing. To see Harrison reach out and touch Adam. I know this sounds stupid, but literally watching it, I forgot — I forgot that he wasn’t his son. He did it so beautifully.”

#I was so so sad at Han’s death #but I love that moment too #for that reason #it’s star wars in a nutshell really #acts of cruelty responded to with love and compassion #terrible things forgiven #god I love star wars so much

skywalkingintheair:

He is one of the best. He’s outwitted the empire on numerous occasions, and he has made some very fast deals. One of his problems is that he gambles quite heavily and that’s where he loses most of his money. He’s tough and sharp, but never manages to scrape together enough to get any power…He’s slightly self-destructive and he sort of enjoys being on the brink of disaster…You might meet him and he may be worth ten billion dollars and the next time you meet him he’s in debt up to his ears.
