I talked to an IT guy I know and he said just leave it for as long as possible and see what happens. I’m not optimistic though :(
(also WHAT THE FUDGE tumblr you can’t even reply to messages properly without Xkit?)
So, Guardians of the Galaxy 2 kind of maybe owns my soul a little bit now? Here’s a fanfic filling in some blanks.
Title: Goodnight
Fandom: Guardians of the Galaxy
Rating: PG13 maybe? There’s nothing in here worse than in the movie
Summary:“And Darth Vader… I suppose he can’t stand the idea of a world where people like him and the Emperor live and people like Luke Skywalker die. So he picks up the Emperor and kills him, so that Luke can survive, even though it kills him too. And all these little teddy bear things that live on the moon below the Emperor’s Death Star, I forgot to mention all of that, they have a big party with fireworks and stuff.”
Peter and his family before, during and after the funeral.

I loved it! You could feel the tiredness along with the comfort. The humorous interjection worked well.
Also, I loved the Star Wars reference.
Aw thank you! Couldn’t resist the Star Wars. :)
It’s hard to say in a way. There’s an old adage I’ve heard family members say: “Right-wingers think the BBC is left-wing and left-wingers think the BBC is right-wing.” But, I am pleased to say, I haven’t seen any racism/homophobia etc from their news sites, at least not that I know of.
It’s always been kinda hard to quantify the BBC because it’s such a huge company, made up of so many people, running so many things… in a way I think the media source it’s most comparable to is Wikipedia. It tries very hard to be truly impartial.
It was a really strange sensation, being used to being… happy. It was confusing, but it was sure as hell better than what he’d left behind.
“Sure, babes,” he said down the phone, “I’ll order us some takeout.”
“Thanks babes,” said Peter. “Also, don’t call me ‘babes’, babes.”

replied to your post “I saw the Lego Batman movie tday! It was…gleefully disrespectful.”
In a good way or bad way?
definitely in a good way! And the Daleks show up!

I saw it today too! I cried even, omg. I super enjoyed it
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a Lego Thing that wasn’t great (also, I’m now super hyped for the Lego Movie 2!)
Oooh neat. Well it is a huge and ancient fandom, so there’s a lot to wanna change….
1) Stop pitting the women against each other! MJ, Gwen, Felicia, they’re all great so just quit it. Yes, even you, Emma Stone
2) PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD STOP making gross rape-y porn of the female characters. I see it every fucking time I go in the tag for any of the Spider-Man women and I am SO sick of it. Actually that should really be #1. I would change that in a heartbeat if I could
3) (I’m noticing a trend here) Stop judging the actresses cast to play Spider-Man characters by their looks! Shaliene Woodley got it for being “ugly”, Zendaya apparently has “the wrong skin colour” etc (which is racism as well obviously), and even back in the old days I remember Mageina Tovah being mocked for her looks even though she wasn’t even playing a main or canon character. (Not that that should make a difference.) It’s so wrong.
4) Please no more “fake geek girl” nonsense, luckily I’ve never seen it much but when I have it’s mostly been from male Spidey fans and CHANGE. IT.
5) … actually this whole thing can be summed up by “less misogyny in general” Also less ableism and racism and homophobia and general bigotry please, though I suppose every single big fandom has that :(
:D I’ll do the Raimiverse!
1) Remove that homophobic joke (”That’s a nice outfit, did your husband make it for you?”) from Spider-Man 1. Peter is not a homophobe
2) Have more people of colour in the franchise, we are in New York
3) More Ursula. Seriously, I really think one more small scene of her in Spider-Man 3 somewhere (watching the big fight on TV?) would’ve been great, but it didn’t happen
4) LESS PLOT HOLES there are so many of them
5) …..God thinking about it that’s pretty much all I would change? So I’ll do one for the Spider-Man fandom in general! STOP PITTING MJ AND GWEN AGAINST EACH OTHER THEY WERE FRIENDS

replied to your post “You know what story I’d like to see from the Harry Potter universe? A…”
This was something that struck me when watching Fantastic Beasts- Grindlewald had a point about the separation not helping anyone. If people knew about magic, magic users would know about their community and have a safe space
It would have saved so much horror and disaster really…

Heh I didn’t know that was even an unpopular opinion. So far from what I’ve seen of the Parker Industries bits I like them. It’s nice to see Peter getting to do new things.

YES. SO MUCH. But the movies have him in this constant state of teenagerhood, he’s growing younger and younger with each reboot, and it’s honestly like the wider world just…. can’t see Peter as an adult, ever? He’s forever trapped in his teenage angst.
(Which, ok, does have merits for actual teenagers just learning about the character I guess. It’s just…well, goddammit, even TEN YEARS ON I’m still pissed they erased the Spider-marriage.)
