The worst part about this besides that fact that they did this, is those are the two kinds of jokes the deadpool comics purposefully never had because they knew where to draw the line.

ok i just got out of deadpool and i didn’t see any transmisogyny at all? like, whatsoever. i was trying to find where there were supposedly “an upsetting amount of rape jokes” and i didn’t catch a single one my dude. like, maybe let’s not just immediately spread misinformation with literally zero evidence whatsoever.
you can’t just toss around accusations like that.

I just got out of it myself, there is ZERO rape jokes and not a single transmisogynist joke at all. If anything the movie stayed faithful to the comics. It was a great movie. Go see it.

There’s a lot of dick jokes, sex jokes, masturbation jokes, and everything in between. But there aren’t any rape jokes. 

why would someone lie about this like why would you make a bunch of rape survivors and trans ppl think they’re Fav got jacked up by some bullshit if it didn’t like what’s the point of that…

Exaxtly!!!! Deadpool is one of my favorite Marvel characters. I was so hoping someone who actually watched the movie would come in and tell me that wasn’t true. Deadpool is the shit fuck that.

Having seen it yesterday, here’s what I remember:

Could-possibly-be-taken-as-rape-joke #1: Wade and Vanessa joke to each other about their terrible childhoods. Both throw in a reference to being molested. I’ve never read the comics, so I have no idea if that’s something that did happen in either of their pasts and they joke about it because that’s what their characters are like or if it’s just an Edgy Joke on the part of the writers.

Could-possibly-be-taken-as-rape-joke #2: Deadpool says of Negasonic “I pity the dude who pressures her into prom sex.” May not quite be a rape joke but it’s rather close to the line?

There was mostly definitely a transmisogynist joke, though. It’s when Deadpool meets Angel Dust, he says something like “you’re too much dude for me!” and something else that I can’t remember. So the OPs really weren’t lying.

Say Her Name: Trans woman of color Kiesha Jenkins dies after being attacked and shot by up to 6 men

Philadelphia homicide Capt. James Clark told the Philadelphia Inquirer that Jenkins, 22, exited a car moments prior to her murder. Once out of the car, the group surrounded Jenkins and when she fell to the ground during the assault, they was shot twice in the back. Jenkins is the second transgender woman to be killed in Philadelphia this year and the 21st in the U.S. This is a dire problem, and as Laverne Cox recently said, fixing it starts with representation.

[Transcription of the video: My name is Sadaisha Shimmers. On the 21st of April I requested to meet with Hillary Rodham Clinton on the Ellen Degeneres show. Within 24 hours of requesting to speak with her about the 20 transgender deaths in our country, the lack of military inclusion, and the segregation that is being lobbied for jails as well as bathrooms in our country, I was leaving my place of residence when I was thrown on the ground by two male officers. I had no idea what was going on and I was subsequently held and detained in down-town San Francisco jail for 24 hours. During which time I was strip searched one time by six male officers and a second time by another male officer by another male officer. They also changed my legally changed gender from female back to male. While I was incarcerated they refused to feed me stating that I was a vegetarian and that they were unable to process a vegetarian tray within the first twelve hours. 

During my incarceration I was not charged with anything. There was no crime attached to why I was being held in jail. These officers came out after I had called 911 saying that there had been people harassing me as a transgender female and I was in fear for my life. They said they were unable to come out to respond to my call and that I needed to go in. After getting dressed to go in and make a police report I was leaving my house when the officers grabbed me, threw me on the ground and arrested me. 

This is illegal. It is illegal to hold somebody without any formal charges. It is illegal to strip search a female when you are a male officer. And it is certainly illegal to deprive me of the medical care that I required. During my incarceration for that 24 hour period I was deprived of various central medications to my health, which resulted in a 24 hour hospital stay due to bleeding ulcers in my stomach. This is a violation of my civil rights. I am in fear for my safety and I fear retaliation. Is this what happens in our country when we ask our future president to help us out? 

This is our trans nation. I need each and every trans person to not allow this to continue to happen. Share this video. God bless.]
