I’m not a super fan of how Spider-man stories set in the future always make Normie a supervillian bent on avenging his dad/his granddad. It negates Liz entirely as a parent and pisses on how Harry tried to ensure his kid wouldn’t have the same live experiences as him.
the osborns
Do you think you could write/imagine something up for the Lyman family set anytime after Emily Osborn’s death? That is any close relatives on Emily’s side. Featuring or mentioning Norman and Harry if possible?
Beverly Lyman hung up the phone with a slam.
“I am guessing it did not go well, dear?” her mother asked as she tutted about, setting up the table for dinner.
Beverly’s lip tightened. “We invited him weeks ago, no answer. I call the day before, and he refuses. He acts like he’s the only one affected by Emily’s death.”
Beverly’s mom, Elisabeth, merely shook her head. “Being married does odd things to you, dear. You feel like they are the other half of your soul. You will understand one day.”
Folding her arms, Beverly privately thought that she wouldn’t. She never understood why sloppy kisses at the end of dates sounded appealing. Being with friends or family had so much more warmth.
“I just wish I could at least see little Harry. He was the light of Emily’s life!”
Elisabeth paused. “I would like to see my grandson as well. Maybe at Christmas.”

OKAY I’M SORRY JUST ONE MORE I PROMISE
Cycles and Circles was the second Spider-Man story about the Osborns and their cycle of child abuse. (The first was The Child Within, which is one HELL of a heavy story.) Thanks to some sciency mumbojumbo, Peter finds himself witnessing/feeling everything Harry and Norman before him witnessed/felt as children. So Peter sees Norman’s father turn on him and his mother, and then sees Norman grow up to neglect and abuse Harry, and then sees Harry raise his hand to his own son. (Although, correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m 99% sure Harry never actually hit Normie, never in any of the Osborn comics- heck, they made a point of it. So I’m glad they didn’t show him actually doing that). Peter saves a little boy from a fire and keeps referring to him as ‘Harry’ (who is dead by this point) which makes me cry. Anyway, by the end of the story Peter’s decided to try and forgive Harry for the terrible things Harry did to him, and he goes to see Normie and try and steer him on the right path, and YOU KNOW YOU SHOULD REALLY READ THIS ONE AND TCW SPIDER-MAN IS ACTUALLY ALMOST ALWAYS AT ITS BEST WHEN DEALING WITH REAL-LIFE ISSUES

Let’s play, “Spot the Emily”
I’ve dedicated far too much time to this: there’s two pictures of Emily, one on the wall of the Osborn manor and one smaller one that Harry seems to take around with him. (There it is on the shelf in the apartment).
Her picture is in front of the safe Harry keeps his valuable things behind, but by Spider-Man 3 Norman’s picture is there instead and Emily’s been demoted to the desk.
Even though she’s mentioned only once in all three movies “Your mother was beautiful too, they’re all beautiful” her presence can still sort of be felt, she’s there in the background quite a bit…
