A lot of trailers came out yesterday! But the one I’m most interested in is Suicide Squad, purely because it contains so many actors I like.
Peter Capadi is playing a man with needles in his head, Sean Gunn is playing a weasel, Michael Rooker is… there (?) and there’s a shark with legs. Oh man this better be good.
A major Doctor Who star just shaved their head for a role in a James Gunn comic-book ensemble film!
…No, not you Karen! You were FANTASTIC though.
Peter Capaldi is going to be in Suicide Squad! I’m so excited to see who he’ll be playing. I feel like it’d be just Gunn’s style to have him play one of the (apparently many) DC villains whose title is “Doctor”.
Can you believe margot robbie did this stunt on her own without any wires while wearing high heels
we had to hear stories about fucked up shit jared leto was doing for a year for his 5 seconds of mediocrity while this woman was out here actually becoming a gymnast?????
I don’t think people give Deadshot/Floyd nearly enough credit. The man has to be a genius to be able to do what he does. It’s not as simple as “killing people” or “shooting people” and I think this is further evidenced by three scenes in the film.
First, the “tryout” scene where Floyd is able to hit the same spot repeatedly with various different guns. Which takes obvious skill because each gun works differently and has different rounds. Yet Floyd is able to calculate which gun is needed, how to shoot, and in what order perfectly.
Second, the scene where he saves the group against Enchantress’ henchmen. He’s able to take a majority of them out by himself but that’s not what really got me. Rather, that he was able to calculate to that degree of accuracy against that many opponents and take them all out. He begins by standing and shooting with a longer range weapon, switching weapons moving closer, jumping on top the car and finishes all the henchmen all using different weapons.
Finally, and this is the scene that really brought it home for me, was the scene where he’s discussing math with his daughter. He mentions when she compares calculating the hypotenuse of a triangle if it’s like shooting someone at an angle. He says there’s a lot of other factors involved in properly figuring out the angle (mentioning things like wind resistance, type of gun, and other aspects I missed). Which means Floyd is calculating how to to shot something, someone, or someones at sometimes rapidly fast times and doing it with relative ease.
Like, how smart is this man? Wildly smart. I bet he can talk mathematical circles around Amanda’s government croonies. Floyd Lawton aka Deadshot is wildly smart, way smarter than people think he is (which he uses to his advantage) and I will die by this.
So the relationship WAS portrayed as abusive and Joker DID tried to kill her, but they changed it. Amazing. Wonderful. I love dc. ~sarcasm~
Wait where is this source from? I’ve been trying to find articles detailing the cut scenes (i would have loved the last scene especially) but I can’t find it. :O
THAT BEING SAID the actual experience of Suicide Squad was quite fun, there were lots of DC fans in the audience, a girl in Harley Quinn cosplay even, and everyone applauded at the end (which I NEVER see people do!) so it’s not like I didn’t have a good time. But honestly Leto’s Joker and the choppiness of the plot kinda ruined the movie for me, which sucks, I wish I had liked it more
