The boy she spent a movie madly crushing on now has a girlfriend and she’s not jealous she’s happy and encouraging (and I think we can assume she likes Mary Jane, too.) Oh Ursula, my lovely mature sweet underappreciated baby.
(You did your female characters REALLY well, Spider-Man trilogy. I’ll never stop loving you for that.)
You know, the thing about the “Gwen fell in love with Peter while Mary Jane fell in love with Spider-Man” quote…It doesn’t make any sense! Because Peter is Spider-Man, they’re the same person!
So what I like to think it really means is, “Gwen loved everything about Peter but what she loved the most was his kind nature and intelligence. Mary Jane loved everything about Peter but what she loved the most was his selfless nature and bravery.”
In other words, they both loved him the exact same amount, for slightly different reasons that had nothing to do with how powerful/famous Peter was and everything to do with what sort of people Gwen and MJ were.
I’ve dedicated far too much time to this: there’s two
pictures of Emily, one on the wall of the Osborn manor and one smaller
one that Harry seems to take around with him. (There it is on the shelf
in the apartment).
Her picture is in front of the safe Harry keeps his valuable things behind, but by Spider-Man 3 Norman’s picture is there instead and Emily’s been demoted to the desk.
Even though she’s mentioned only once in all three movies “Your
mother was beautiful too, they’re all beautiful” her presence can still
sort of be felt, she’s there in the background quite a bit…
okay, i think what i’ve been having trouble articulating lately is that lois lane and mary jane watson were fucking formative to me
because they weren’t just ‘super hero girlfriends’ and while wonder woman was amazing and i loved supergirl, i couldn’t picture myself as a super hero, because the…
What the fuck? I think you mean Gwen Stacy. Gwen Stacy loved Peter Parker and MJ loved Spider-Man. MJ did nothing but screw around on Pete. Gwen was loyal, devoted and smart.
Gwen didn’t need to resort to wearing skanky outfits to get Peter’s attention, unlike Mary Jane.
Gwen should be classed with the likes of Lois Lane.
^I’m assuming the above is a joke, because I don’t want to think anyone’s mean enough to see a post about how a character was formative to another person, improved her life even, and then instantly respond with ‘that character you love is a skank’.
I think for years to come the shadow of Peter Parker is going to be draped over the book. There’s nothing you can do about that. But new cast members will come in. Life goes on. Peter Parker fans will sort of fade away over the months and years, and you’ll have a bunch of people who only know the new cast. [x]
I seriously just want to start throwing things at Marvel right now. How could you.
what what what what? What happened to Peter? (I stopped reading comics a long time ago, because…well, because they keep doing stuff like this.)
-For those new to ficathons, all you gotta do is either post a prompt (more on that in a second) or reply to someone else’s with a fic/drabble/what have you. For example- someone might come along and post ‘Peter and Harry in a Victorian steampunk AU’ and your mission, if you chose to accept it, would be to write Peter and Harry in a Victorian steampunk AU.
-Obviously, Peter/Harry has to be the main pairing. But you can have others in there too!
-Any verse is good. Comics, either movieverse, any of the many TV shows…or any combination thereof. Crossovers are welcome too, by the way.
-Be sure to add ratings (PG, R, etc) and warn for any potentially upsetting stuff.
-No bashing of the ladies (MJ, Gwen, Liz, Lily, etc). Most people very much dig them, y’see.
The Amazing Spider-Man sequel has its Harry, in the form of Dane Dehaan. Who apparently was really good in Chronicle, which I haven’t seen. Still! Harry is like one of my fictional fictional characters ever, so I’m just glad he’s in there.
