There’s a couple of posts going around, rapidly gaining traction, stating that Pearl Mackie has been ‘fired’ from Doctor Who after just one series. Source: The Sun. Small problem with this:
The Sun are LIARS. Also racists, transphobes, homophobes, every bad thing under the sun. (Pun actually not intended.) I cannot stress this enough. Even in the UK, they have no credibility whatsoever. They are our equivalent of Fox News. Don’t just take my word for it, read their Wikipedia page.
They’ve worked out by now that a fake Doctor Who story = lots of clicks. Observe:

The Sun did this exact. same. thing to the last Black actress to join Doctor Who in a lead role.
A few episodes into Freema Agyeman’s run as Martha Jones, the Sun claimed she was “axed” (Original article long gone: text of it can be found here) Everyone believed it; the result was distressing to Agyeman, as you can imagine –
And of course it wasn’t true. Freema Agyeman and Martha stuck around til series four.
I am SO PISSED OFF that The Sun did the same thing again, to another young black actress just starting out. So pissed off.
In fact, the bold header text is not enough to contain my pissed-off-ness.
The Sun is not a good newspaper. It is barely a newspaper. It is certainly not a credible source. It actively endangered people’s lives in the 80s with its lies about AIDS. It ruined many people’s lives in 1989 with its lies about the Hillsborough disaster. It published an article by human toilet (/frequent Sun contributor) Katie Hopkins calling for “cockroach” refugees to be gunned down. (Yes. That is a thing that really honestly happened.) It is nothing but lies, lies, racism, every other -ism, and lies. What wouldn’t I give to it, The Daily Mail and the Express gone from the shelves.
Do not believe what they’re saying about Pearl Mackie. Do not believe what they’re saying about anything. If you click on a Doctor Who story and see “The Sun” anywhere near it, immediately back away. They are scum. They are utter, utter scum.
Please spread this around with the same speed with which you would like to see Katie Hopkins punched in the face.
so. I found out, finally, that I have an injury in my reproductive system. It could be anywhere or in multiple places. I am going to get an ultrasound on the 4th. Also I may be unenrolled from my classes due to my absence. The pain in my upper abdomen is mostly gone and was probably from deep tissue damage (which has probably healed) or could have been pain from the uterus/ovaries/tubes/whatever that i was misplacing (it can be hard to tell where internal pain is happening).
anyway basically, this stupid accident has derailed my higher education and my life, which I may not be allowed to even get back to. I JUST got a doctor’s note and I’ll meet with the dean tomorrow… my mom’s been laid off, i need to be in school to get my student stipend which i need to pay my rent and buy my medicines and food and all of that stuff that keeps me living. my PayPal is at timdrake999@gmail.com. A fall down a sstaircase in 2012 caused me to become completely bedridden for life, leaving me both destitute and in need of 24 hour care [Medical reports], which the government fails to provide. I desperately need to be compensated for my accident; this is the only way I could ever fund the healthcare I need to halt the HORRIFYING physical deterioration I am undergoing.

😓😳 so… still struggling to afford meds, and though I’m looking for employment my transportation is on the rocks in a major and insurmountable way: my car needs a new transmission (600$ plus at least 1000$ of labor), new tires, and new brakes. I also have… really no work clothes at all to speak of if I was able to land a job. Before I could even make money to dig myself out of this medication hole I’d need money to fix the car and money to buy appropriate clothes

I use to try avoid post like these but, karma has a funny way of working. I know that I don’t post a lot and am not really that popular but my family needs help. My dad, Carlos, fell down a flight of stairs and hurt his arm and shoulder and is now unable to go to work. He is has a very strong sense of pride, so he didn’t even tell me. (machismo, but anyway) I just noticed that my family back home was struggling more than we usually do. I’m in college, so I don’t regularly get to see them. My sister told me what happened, and how there isn’t enough money to make bills.
He’s a good man and I am soooo soooooo lucky to have this man as a father. He was the best father to me when I came out, and actively worked to make schools more accepting of the LGBT+ community ever since. He has ALWAYS been serious about keeping our roots (Afro-Cuban), and our religion. If anyone was down the would always make time to make people smile.
He actively tries to make peoples days brighter, whether it’s at work or in the grocery store. I know that he’s in a bad place right now, and just won’t mention it. He went to the doctor yesterday and was told that he needs to have the surgery as soon as possible to prevent any permanent damage to his shoulder and arm, he estimated that he would need the surgery by May 5th before the injury does damage to his nervous system. My mother and my sister are constantly at their alter praying for change in this situation.
So, all my siblings and I are starting a GoFundMe campaign for him so we can pay for the surgery. I completely understand if you can give any donation (I’m a college student, I know), I would just ask to please please please share, or pray to whichever god(dess) you worship, or even do a small spell for us to reach the goal. I just want my dad to be back the goofy, kind man that he is.I can’t thank you guys enough for even reading this.
