#YOU KNOW WHY THIS IS THE WORST FUCKING SCENE #it’s because this is sort of like the final proof that ego didn’t give a single shit about meredith as a person #sure he ‘loved’ her in some way #but he didn’t care about her love of music or her love for her child #or the concept that HEY MAYBE SHE WOULDN’T WANT THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE DESTROYED #so as well as it being so cruel to peter #destroying all he had left of his mother while he watched #it was also symbolic of how little ego *really* cared about meredith and all she represented

Being doing some research for a fanfic and it’s slowly starting to dawn on me how really, spectacularly shitty life must have been for Meredith Quill after she gave birth to Peter. It’s 1980. Here’s a baby, she’s not married, and she can’t produce the father. Can’t give the address or maybe even the last name of the father. The social stigma must’ve been huge. Meredith probably got off better than a lot of people – she was white, seems to have had a fairly supportive family (at least eventually) and maybe even had a bit of wealth, we don’t know – but man, there must have been so many nasty whispers and cruel jibes.

Been reading some awesome fanfics. So this happened. (I haven’t drawn anything in years! Its not 100% finished, but I’m done workin on it….)

AU: Meredith & Peter both get picked up by Yondu. She gets Cybornetics to fix her brain (she basically becomes a super hero too). They form the Guardians, free slaves, have adventures, typical ‘Robin Hood-ing’ across the galaxy. 

Also just an excuse to draw a girl Ravager outfit. (was watching ‘Civil War’ at the time. Heavy Scarlet Witch influence)  But mainly I just want less tragedy for these three) The main canon story is my favorite, and I wouldn’t change it for anything, but a little escape to pocket universe is ok sometimes.

When I do another pic, Kraglin will Definitely be in it! He is such an important part of these storys.

The story where Yondu is Terran and he crashes his ride on a run and now he’s got a sassy outcasted, single mother, Missourian watching over him.

I really like the idea of Human!Yondu okay! Michael Rooker with a mohawk! 

Plus it’s adorable to imagine this gruff, mean, killer biker being taken care of by sassy, but sweet (but also mama bear) Missouri born little mother and watching said biker interact with a toddler is also too fucking cute okay! 

I’m a sucker for this kind of shit…
