Thanks to the ever-astounding @finniestoncrane, I will be sharing with y’all some of my favorite pieces of cinema in no particular order. And yes, they are cinema.
Rules: post 10 of your favorite movies and tag 10 people.
Captain Marvel (2019) – The film that made me realize why guys like to watch superhero movies so much. I’ve never felt more powerful.
Curious George (2006) – For the era in which it was made, this movie has some of the best animation I’ve ever seen. Also, Jack Johnson popped off on the album for the film.
The Batman (2022) – I feel as though I’m contractually obligated to include this one. It’s my current comfort movie, and, unlike most films, I can watch it over and over.
Happy Feet (2006) – I already know I’m going to get clowned for this one, but I don’t care. I don’t even like musicals, but I like penguins, stories of self-discovery, and Boogie Wonderland.
The Adventures of Tintin (2011) – This was the first movie I watched, not as a child, but as a
partiallyfully sentient being all my own, and thought “that was a whole ass movie”.Lilo and Stitch (2002) – This one never gets old. Like, I could watch this movie for the rest of my life and still find joy in it. That opening song, He Mele No Lilo, it inspires something in my heart.
The Avengers (2012) – A classic. Whenever I see that it’s on, I stop, smile, and think fondly on the joy that was. Interpret that as you will.
Howl’s Moving Castle (2004) – One of my first Ghibli films, and my favorite one without a doubt. It never ceases to amaze and makes me cry when I go back and watch it.
Doctor Strange (2016) – This movie was one of the coolest things I have ever seen. Also, I love wizards.
The Secret of Kells (2009) – I found this movie on accident, but I was never the same afterwards. Like I can’t describe it. Something inside me changed.

As always, no pressure to participate. Just thought it would be fun š
Top 10 movies, hm? I can do that! Can’t say the same for tagging 10 people though… Also, apologies for cursing ahead of time. Idk how to translate my thoughts of the movies without cursing, tbh.
- Pokemon: The Rise of Darkrai – I fucking love this movie! I watched it multiple times growing up and have always loved it each time. I remember crying so hard the first time around and whenever I hear Oracion play, I will start bawling. Just- this movie will always have a special place in my heart (I would also like to say thank you, Ash Ketchum, for giving me the childhood memories I have now. Gonna miss you and Pikachu.)
- Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse – FUCKING LOVE THE DESIGN, AESTHETICS, AND GRAPHICS- JUST- HOLY SHIT MAN! DON’T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THE PLOT AND ALL THE DYNAMICS- AND THE MEMES! Definitely looking forward to watching the sequel!
- Star Wars Episode III: The Revenge of The Sith – ESPECIALLY AFTER SEEING WHAT HAPPENED IN THE CLONE WARS TV SHOW- THE BETRAYAL OF THE CLONES HURT- BUT THE BATTLE BETWEEN ANAKIN AND OBI-WAN? MAN, THAT WAS GREAT YET HEART-WRENCHING! (Also, sequel trilogy? What are you talking about? All I know is the Prequels and the originals- not to mention the shows-)
- James Cameron Avatar – I only just watched it a few months ago (Still haven’t watched Way of Water yet-) and DEAR GOODNESS, EVERYTHING’S BEAUTIFUL- just- the fact that it was made in 2009 especially is surprising! The world-building is what made me fall in love with the movie, in all honesty.
- Harry Potter: The Goblet of Fire – I hate JK Rowling and do not support her whatsoever. But I do remember watching the Harry Potter movies and enjoying it, which lead to me reading the books (and fanfics… So much fanfics…), but out of all the movies, it was the Goblet of Fire that ended up being my favorite. A sort of clear transition to how things are getting even more sirius (I had to ok-) and that this isn’t a mere fairytale fantasy adventure anymore of sorts. Idk, I just loved Goblet of Fire a lot.
- John Wick – Do I really need to explain why I love this movie?
- Train to Busan – ONE OF THE BEST ZOMBIE MOVIES OUT THERE- THE ENDING MADE ME CRY EVERYTIME I WATCHED IT (I watched the original with subtitles. Hits more then the dub) Definitely managed to give a new twist to Zombie Movies imo
- House of Wax (2005) – Look, idk why I love this movie- well, ok, that’s a lie. The Sinclair Brothers I find rather compelling. Leaving it at that, tbh
- Batman & Mr. Freeze: SubZero – Aside from Scarecrow and Riddler, Mr. Freeze is one of my favorite rogues. Man needs all the hugs. Enough said.
- Can… Can I put The Owl House Season 3 on this list? Or at the very least Gravity Falls Weirdmageddon episodes? No? Well, TOO BAD! I CONSIDER THEM MOVIES AND THEY ARE AMAZING AND JUST- AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA XD
… Hope you don’t mind (Also, apologies for the ping-)

These are in no particular order because I can’t chose besides narrowing it down to 10
- The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (The Extended Edition) – The Hobbit movies are my go to movies when I’m looking for something to watch, and the first one is my favorite. Bilbo when the dwarves invade his house is the biggest mood.
- The Batman – I saw this 4(?) times in theaters and fell in love. I’ve watched it countless times since then, and I have 3 of the posters from my local theater. I was so hyped for this movie because Riddler is my favorite rogue and it did not disappoint.
- Tangled – My favorite Disney movie. The Kingdom Dance is the best part of the movie hands down. My first proper cosplay was Rapunzel.
- Barbie as The Princess And The Pauper – I watched this all the time as a kid; I was Erika and my sister was Anneliese. I’m actually making Erika’s dress right now. This movie means so much to me. I’ve enjoyed introducing my little sister (3 y/o) to it.
- Ponyo – A movie I saw trailers for countless times as a kid but only got around to watching it last summer. I like the English dub best because Liam Neeson as Fujimoto is šš.
- Spider-Man: No Way Home – Saw this in theaters. I’d never seen The Amazing Spider-Man movies so I got so excited when the Lizard showed up because I loved him in Spider-Man TAS. The interaction between Doc Ock and Peter 2 makes me cry every time I watch it. I want a Batman movie like this; not with the multiverse shenanigans necessarily, but a movie where he’s allowed to actually help some of the Rogues.
- The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring – Like The Hobbit, LotR is a comfort series and the beginning of the journey is my favorite.
- Newsies (1992) – From Jack’s dance break in “Santa Fe” to Davey trying to do the choreography in “Seize The Day” this movie makes my heart happy. And Davey and Jack are so in love. Also “High Times, Hard Times” is a bop and did not deserve to be nominated for Worst Song.
- Puss in Boots: The Last Wish – I’ve only seen it once, but I loved it so much.
- Kiki’s Delivery Service – I’d marry Osono. Also it’s just a cute movie.
