EEEK! I love your art. :D If it’s not too much trouble, can I have any combination of companions chillin’ out? Amy-Rory-Martha-Mickey, maybe!
Dinner at the Ponds: They swap stories, Rory and Martha bond over doctory-nursey stuff and Mickey’s amused by yet another lady having fallen for the Doctor.
OH MY GOD THIS IS PERFECT
It’s exactly what I wanted, so much so that I have lost the ability to can, THANK YOOOOOU *dead*
-Mickey’s includes the Tardisode he appeared in
-Rory’s includes PS, Space and Time and the DVD extras
-Amy’s includes Space and Time, the DVD extras and (after some thought) Good As Gold
-River’s includes all her incarnations, so you’ve got little Melody and Mels in there too
Doctor Who companions: the good qualities and the bad.
And because I know someone will ask for it:
I was already considering reblogging this photoset because it speaks truth…
AND THEN I CLICKED THE OSWIN ONE
TOO SOON, BRO
*cackling helplessly*
I of course knew where it was going, and still…
Every companion has flaws and everything but guys
Since
When
Is
Martha
a
pushover
I’d say she is at the start of S3, because she’s the glue holding her whole family together (she’s even nice to her dad’s horrible girlfriend) and she doesn’t call the Doctor out on his behaviour towards her til the end. (Because she’s blinded by love, I guess.)
Basically, I always thought Martha’s journey was learning to come out of a one-sided relationship where it was all her serving the other person’s ego, and finally do whatever she wanted.
Martha Jones is us in a way none of the other modern-day companions have quite been. She’s a nerd! She references Harry Potter, her sister makes comments about her lack of social life, she’s ‘been watching too much TV’ as the Doctor says. She even has a blog! (The BBC website team made one for her, although I don’t think it’s there anymore.)
And Martha Jones saves the world with fandom twice! Firstly in The Shakespeare Code, where she saves the world with her love of Harry Potter. (asdfghjk I LOVE THIS GIRL). And then, later on- she becomes the Doctor’s fandom! She tells his story, spreads the word. The same thing we do every day, on a infinitely larger scale, but…she boosted the signal. She boosted it good.
She’s us. Which is why I love her so. She saved the world using nothing but love and her own two legs.
