Les Miserables deleted scenes:
Long live the Republic

We’re now into territory that doesn’t have any gifs or images, but it does have tweets. lecapunk asked George Blagden this!

There was DEFINITELY another tweet towards the beginning of 2013 where George said, in answer to a “what would you change about the movie” question, “I wish they hadn’t cut my Long Live The Republic line” but I have long since lost the screencap and any evidence at all that it existed. Anyone got it? vivelarepublique had it!

Les Miserables deleted scenes:
Grantaire’s verse of Drink With Me

Found on “The Young Revolutionaries” DVD extra, which is probably not on your DVD since it was a Target-exclusive extra. Exclusive extras are my enemy. (It’s right here on Youtube, hooray.)

You can just see the beginning of the glare on there before they cut away. (Sigh.) And here’s an audiopost of the one line we got from the video.

The cutting of this scene made George terribly sad:

Les Miserables deleted scenes:
Father Mabeuf

He appears waving the flag in the “Battle of the Barricade” extra on the DVD. (You can see it here!) I also spotted him again a little earlier on that video, tearing up paving-stones. Okay, you can’t make out his face, but who else could it be?

Tumblr user justbeencumberbatched spotted him in the international trailer, too! There he is getting shot, on that last gif. So his scenes were filmed, and almost made it…

He’s played by an actor called Michael Sarne.

Les Miserables deleted scenes:
Cosette in her room

From the international trailer (seriously, did anything from the trailer make it into the movie?) At first I thought Cosette was looking into a mirror, but unless she has a lot of random foliage in her room, she is…probably not. So it’s probably a window.

I have no idea what she’s singing, though. In the trailer she seems to be singing the “Tomorrow you’ll be worlds away” bit of One Day More, but that doesn’t really seem to fit. Any ideas?

Les Miserables deleted scenes:
The beginning of The ABC Cafe

From the “Creating The Perfect Paris” DVD extra, a couple of cut lines from “The ABC Cafe/Red and Black”. (You can see Killian Donnelly bursting in and calling “Enjolras!” at the end there.) No idea how much of it they filmed, I still hold out hope that they filmed it in its entirety…

You probably want to watch it now, so it’s here! It starts at about 2:22.

Les Miserables deleted scenes:
Eponine and Gavroche

From this featurette about Sam Barks. I mean, I’m assuming this is a scene being rehearsed or filmed- the people talking in the background make me wonder- but Sam definitely seems to be in full-on Eponine mode, so…

I have no idea what lines she’s singing, as this bit in the video has a voiceover, but I’m guessing it would be “We were children together/Look what’s become of me” as Sam’s expressions are close to what they were for that bit in the final film, and because it’s a nice nod to Eponine and Gavroche being brother and sister.

Les Miserables deleted scenes:
Javert by the river

From this trailer.

I’m assuming the gifs are that scripted scene- it seems pretty likely (you can see the river in the bottom right-hand corner of the first gif, and you can see policemen with lamps in the second).

It’s either that, or a continuation of this one (Javert having apparently taken the time to button up his jacket and put his hat on) with the camera panning up from Valjean’s hiding place to Javert watching the river above:

Lanterns are present in both scenes, so it’s tricky to be sure. Anyway, basically, Javert really needs to stop climbing on high ledges near rivers.
