Boy, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 was unexpectedly good.
Way better than the first one.
I went in thinking I’d get some chuckles, cool aliens, some questionable dialogue and plot choices, but it was so much more than that! I loved all of it (except for what they did with Mantis because yikes).
Guardians tackled many themes with varying levels of success, including but not limited to: how abuse effects us, personal growth, machismo/toxic masculinity, parenting, acceptance, etc…
Actually, let me hone in on the ‘acceptance’ theme.
