A commission for theilltemperedschism, who requested for the Ponds (circa the 40’s) after being sent back in time find a way to send the Doctor letters telling him about their lives, it’s based on her fic “Epistolary: The 50 Years Before We Were Born“ (psst go read it) <3

This is so beautiful. It is literally everything I could have hoped or ask for. I’m over the moon, thank you so much oddthesungod! I could not be happier.

I love that Amy is looking at us.

The Doctor and Harriet Jones + Actions and Consequences

Messing up with time always brings consequences. Harriet Jones was supposed to be Prime Minister for three sucessive terms and the Doctor knew that. By bringing her down, he made it possible for Harold Saxon (a.k.a. the Master) to be elected.

#AND HE DESERVED IT#just give me a second okay#the doctor has always had a trouble with overstepping his boundaries and acting like a god#ESPECIALLY ten in the post series 4 specials#and he rarely sees the consequences#he’s the doctor he knows best#but what a BEAUTIFUL CONSEQUENCE THIS IS#LOOK AT THE IRONY#the doctor decides that he knows what’s best for england so he messes with history#and instead of fixing england he leaves it broken for the master to snatch up#it’s wonderful it’s exactly what the doctor needs#it forces the doctor to reevaluate harriet jones and it should’ve forced him to reevaluate his actions#now we know this isn’t true because of the downward spiral he goes on#but i love series 3 in part because i love this#i love the doctor being forced to see what he’s done (via bisexualamy)

#Y E S  #i mean it’s annoying that the show wasn’t obvious about this  #i mean it does make sense if you think about it  #but it’s not ever fully explained in the context of the show which is a little annoying  #but gosh darn as much as i love 10  #tumblr thinks waaaaaaaaaaay too much of him and touts him as the ‘perfect’ and most doctor-y of the doctor and how the doctor SHOULD be  #and it’s just like  #no  #he’s as messed up as he’s always been  #he just does it with a scary amount of charm that allows him to seem like he’s doing the best thing  #i mean i think in part it was the way rtd framed the doctor during his run  #as a hero to end all heroes- except when he didn’t want to tell that story  #like yes the doctor is generally on the side of the good guys  #but he over steps and fails and just doesn’t /get/ some things  #which i think is sad that rtd only explored as a plot point really  #the doctor is and should be fallible  #he’s not the perfect hero  #not every challenge will be met with the perfect response that only leaves the bad guys hurt (via oimatchstickman)

I’d forever hold that Steven Moffat isn’t bad at writing women, at all. Amy, Clara, River – they’re all different and differently fascinating.

What he was absolutely bloody awful at, though, was writing them into situations where their consent and bodily autonomy didn’t matter to the story.

I figured something out the other day. I honestly don’t care if you like Donna/Martha/Rose more than Amy/Clara/River (though a lot of the reasons for that come off p sexist), what do I hate is “they’re just issues to be solved” because I, you and plenty of other neuroatypical (sorta)girls can really relate to them and saying “they’re not human-sounding and just problems for dudes” taps into what I at least have been told for a lot of my life.

Yeah, completely agreed. (This is the same reason I hate the whole ‘manic pixie dream girl’ label now too, and I hope it goes the same way as ‘mary sue’ as a term that’s just plain toxic for women.)

Ooooh, and although it’s not quite as personal I also hate it when people bring out the ‘No-one dresses like Amy and Clara, they’re costumed entirely for the male gaze!’ argument, because I dress almost exactly like Clara with a hint of Amy sometimes and it’s certainly not for anyone but me…
