Where the hell is “Tiana’s Place”? Don’t get smart and say New Orleans, I mean for real. Why have you not made a Tiana’s Place at one of your parks?

image

I see no possible reason why you wouldn’t have built a restaurant like this yet. It’s cute, classy, and would be totally fun. You could serve creole food (as well as just plain american fair for the less adventurous.)

image

It would be pretty as hell inside

image

It would be fun for kids and adults, you could have dancing and a band playing. You could have a magician (bonus points if he’s dressed liked Facilier. Or train your Faciler face person to do short tarot card readings! Or get a mama Odi!)

image

The face characters could come in and out, but there’s always a set time Tiana and Naveen would be there (and if they aren’t you can say their in the kitchen cooking up a storm!) Jazz music! Lots of Jazz and swing. You could have workshops with Tiana for kids to learn stuff like the charleston, or cooking!

image
image

And then night or during the day a couple times a week you could have a second line (small New Orleans style jazz parade) with a brass band and Tiana and Naveen leading it, all the way to the restaurant.

image

And Oh my god, do you consider how many people would love a place like that to get married at the park! Having a wedding second line too? How fun that would be?

image

Disney, you are really missing out by not playing up the fact you have a character that opened their own restaurant (outside of Remi from Ratatouille but that’s another rant) and I’m really sick of The Princess and the Frog being among your more ignored movies. Put it at Epcot near the river or just anywhere! Heck, I know I stayed at a New Orleans style resort area of yours when I was like six! (Is that still around? I don’t remember what it was called, but there were Gator statues with instruments that would tie in really well…)

In conclusion

FRICKING BOOST THIS

And c’mon, both Disneyland AND Disneyworld have areas dedicated to New Orleans culture. COME ON.

THIS. SOMEONE ELSE NOTICED IT TOO

Does anyone else miss the old Disney Stores and the way they used to look and be displayed? I remember as a kid the store displays used to be so enchanting and I felt like I was at the parks or something.

image

There was something always going on in the front display showcasing something from an old short or even a classic disney film.

image

And if you looked up inside the store there were other displays of various Disney characters from their films.

image

Man I miss that.

Hang on, the one in Leicester still looks like that.

…Is that the one in Leicester?

Storyboard and Concept Art On What Would Have Been The First Disney Short To Have Every Disney Lady Interacting With Each other! But Was Never Made After The 2D Animation Deportment Was Shut Down The Music Would Have Been Done By Alan Menken Who was Very Excited About The Project That Would Later Be Shelved………………….

WHYYYYY

When you realize you could’ve had this but instead they gave you a frozen short…

Is this legit though or is it just fanart with a heartbreaking caption

This was not done by any Disney animator nor anyone at Disney. This was a fan project of sorts done by the amazingly talented David Kawena and this was him proposing a short to Disney. Alan Menken saw it and thought it was a brilliant idea and said he would write the music should the project ever be greenlight officially by Disney. It never did get the greenlight, I am assuming Disney passed on the idea. This was around the time when 2D was on it’s way out the company, but something tells me that’s not the reason this project never became a thing. As for the obligatory blame Frozen comment remember this short was in development before Frozen  the film was even a whisper let alone the short. So this has nothing to do with any of that.

Gaston on women’s Lib.

You see this is the sort of thing I like. Because, especially at Disney, you don’t want to really discourage any of those ideals “thinking, having your own ideas” but you also have to stay in character. So you associate those ideals with the princess in the group, the one who the young girl is supposed to idolize. So, while staying in character, Gaston can announce his displeasure for women who read while also encouraging it in a young girl by giving it the good association of Belle. Idk, I always thought those work arounds that Disney villain face characters go through to not be overtly mean to children but stay in character were really interesting.

I just gained so fucking much respect for this Gaston.

No one’s sneakily a feminist like Gaston
