my unpopular opinion is that i hate tiktok because now people just publicly watch loud ass videos in public spaces with no regard for anyone else. 100% it was not this bad with youtube, it’s such a different thing with tiktok. put on headphones. you are grown.
Girl……
This is it! This is what social media/smart tech have done! They’ve rotted away any distinction between private and public.
Yes, we do have the right to make demands on public behavior. Of course we do. Have you never heard of laws and etiquette? I’m not allowed to grocery shop naked. You can’t rummage through my purse. I can’t have a work meeting in the middle of a movie theatre.
I remember when it was taboo simply to answer your cell phone in public. The person answering would apologize and try to go to a more private area. Then public calls were normalized. Then putting people on speaker. Then listening to music without headphones. Do you know how many times I have hiked up a mountain or driven to the beach, only to be met with someone blaring shitty top 40 music from their portable speaker, because Heaven forbid you go one hour without noise?
Old woman yells at cloud and all that, but I can’t believe someone is not only admitting this behavior, but saying it’s a good thing! No one likes you! You’re a menace!
BEING INCONSIDERATE OF OTHERS IS STILL BAD.
It was obnoxious when it was youtube.
It was obnoxious when it was music.
It was obnoxious when it was the radio.
It was obnoxious when it was dudes wanting to talk to you instead of letting you just read your freaking book.
Do you want to be this guy? Because being obnoxious in shared spaces is how you become this guy.
Wear your damn headphones like an adult participant in the social contract.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis had the state pave over the memorial for the 49 Pulse Nightclub massacre victims.

Orlando Resident here. The chalk was later replaced by paint by more proud citizens, but the state came through AGAIN last night and painted over it AGAIN, and everyone has re-chalked it rainbow again as of 5 hours ago. A bucket of chalk now sits by the crosswalk. Orlando will not lose this fight. We are not letting this go.
PAINT THE WHOLE FUCKING NEIGHBORHOOD. YOU WILL NOT COVER OUR PAIN IN FUCKING ASPHALT, YOU NAZI FUCK!
They painted over a fucking memorial. I hope everyone who supported this burns in hell.
what im learning from my “potentially traumatic event that didnt traumatize you” post is that everybody in the world has a story about almost drowning. hell personally i’ve got four of em. youd think this would make people want to go in water less but no. human beings love their wet and cannot be stopped.
reading this smugly thinking “*I* don’t have an almost drowning story” and then realizing in horror that I do have an almost drowning story and have thought about it in the very back of my mind on a regular basis for the past 25 years
Well, technically it’s not new : it’s a nurse shark. What’s new, however, is that it’s the first xanthic (imagine albinism but in yellow) nurse shark ever found !! Not only it’s not common AT ALL to find fishes with xanthism (it’s the first cartilagenous fish ever recorded with this type of genetic “anomally”), but if it’s there and still existing as an adult, it means the species is chill-ish with other predators (it probably would have been eaten by then). Its eyes are white so it can also be a form of albinism, in addition to xanthism !!!!!
And most of all : ITS SO CUTE !! AND IT’S SUCH A COOL FIND !!
Please if a marine biologist or someone with more info can interact with this post to feed me some more info or correct me on wrong infos i’e given I’d love it !
(Also if you have pics of animals with xanthism, it’s also very appreciated!!)
I went to London and had a wonderful time, which I was very surprised about because it’s been a terrible week.
Tourists were literally queuing up to take pictures with the red phone boxes.
Big Ben, the London Eye and the South Bank is my favourite part of London.
The seagulls may look peaceful but we saw them getting into an animated fight over an eel plucked from the Thames.
We were in London to see The Hunchback of Notre Dame in concert, HOND being my favorite Disney film and the songs being among the most electrifying I’ve ever heard. Saw the actors entering the theater dressed as monks:
It was an amazing show. HUGE standing ovation at the end.
One time, not even a week after seeing Les Mis, my family and I went to a restaurant that had — for some inexplicable reason — a “Jean Valjean Seafood Special” on their menu. And us all being fans of Les Mis we naturally have to ask our waiter: why? Instead of saying “oh I don’t know” or “oh the guy in the back is a big Les Mis fan” or something, he decided to pick the fun route and lie. He looked into our eyes, straight-faced, so serious, and said “Jean Valjean is French for ‘Seafood Special.’” Now, I don’t speak French, but I know enough that I’m not quite sure that’s true. I respect him for being able to just lie like that though, very impressive.
