I know I’ve said this a lot, but I’m still Bitter™ that Jane and Darcy have been practically erased from the MCU when they’re both amazing, badass science ladies (and they’re both Jewish btw) who were given an actual story arc that coincided with Thor’s instead of them just being there to make Thor look better, like, they had as big a part of the story as he had, and I could really go with a Marvel series that dealt with Jane and Darcy and Erik studying the science in the Marvel universe and making cool discoveries and it would be so great but it seems like Marvel is pretty much done with them and it makes me so sad

I second all this.

MARVEL-The Scientists series could have Darcy (political scientist) arguing to fix the Sokovia Accords (while her ex, Ian, looks after Jane), Erik & Jane mapping the universe, Betty Ross’ biology breakthroughs and Helen Cho’s amazing new medical advancements.  Sharon Carter could run security.

I was not even that big a fan of Jane and Darcy in the movies. But you step up and erase them and now they are my precious babies and your Thor movie can go fuck itself.

Hell, that’s a perfectly legitimate way to get Bruce into the Thor movies, toss him in for the xenobiology. Instead of Thor vs the Hulk which is awesome but not really necessary.

#I’m so torn about the intricacies of this because on the one hand now we get Valkyrie (who I’m pretty sure back when her casting was announced was the first EVER black female lead in the entire mcu) #and that’s important #but looking back through interviews with natalie portman #there just seems to be a general pattern of marvel not treating their female actors #anywhere near how they treat their male ones #and same with female characters #especially female scientist characters for some reason #see also: betty ross #maya hansen and helen cho #and that’s just really shitty #so I will see thor 3 and I am certain i’ll love it #but I’ll also be a bit sad about what might have been
