If you like this, you should check out Socality Barbie. Same concept, different execution, actual Instagram account.

Laurel help me put into words how pretentious this is

“aims at exposing the truth” is a bit of a stretch.  This is someone pretentiously mocking and attempting to humiliate Instagram users for no viable reason. I mean they’re not a investigative journalist making an exposé about lizard people running our society or the like.   Chompoo and Socality Barbie aren’t exposing some great hidden truths, they’re just attempting to seem deep by degrading others without any actual social commentary.  This wannabe Banksy trend is so annoying.  I mean, Banksy is pretentious, but at least he’s pretentiously pointing out existing issues, instead of what these people are doing.

there we go

“HAHA, remember that picture you took on your phone and put on the internet of an okay looking square foot of your house!?! I bet there was a -MESS- a few feet away! FRAUD!!!! FRAUDSTER!!! LYING FILTHY DEVIL-TRASH RUINING OUR CULTURE!!!!”

so he’s exposing people on Instagram for doing what people photographing scenes have been doing since the very first camera, not to mention ALL VISUAL ART THROUGHOUT HISTORY? Oh no, these people have a sense of frame and composition, they’re liars who must be exposed! What a douche.

“the proles are not allowed to create art” – The Story of Chompoo Baritone

photography has always for the most part tried to capture the good parts of everything, that’s why editing exists in the first place so i dont know why this pretentious fuck munch thinks that just because he can get his kicks off “social commentary” that he’s actually saying anything new or even relevant

we photo-shaming now?

Boycott the Pan movie

Great Ormond Street Hospital has confirmed they will receive no money from Warner’s new “Pan” movie, despite being the copyright holders thanks to the author J M Barrie’s generous gift.

On their site they say the copyright is “enormously valuable – not only in financial terms but also as a symbol and icon – and has brought a fair amount of income to the hospital”.

Disney’s Peter Pan and Return to Neverland, Spielberg’s Hook, columbia Picture’s 2003 Peter Pan, and even Finding Neverland all paid proper dues for the use of the Peter Pan characters. Warner did not for the Pan movie.

They are using allusions to the characters to benefit from their popularity, but changed the story entirely. Edit: yes, this is technically LEGAL to do, but morally dubious./edit

So not only are they white-washing the Native Americans, they are also stealing from a children’s hospital.

BOYCOTT.

What? I was going to at least give it a watchh assuming the Hospital was still going to get their proper dues. Not cool…not that it could beat Hook anyways..

Wow news to me

Danny Pink was an ass.

I shudder to think what Clara’s life would have been like if she’d married/had a child by him.

bye

I’m sorry but what in the actual fuck? Danny never was controlling, he only ever asked Clara to be honest with him. As much as I love her as a character, she was the one who constantly lied and led him on. Neither of them were perfect, but this actually makes me angry because it really lays a lot of the blame for how their relationship was at his feet, when it had more to do with Clara’s need to control everything in her life (including her relationships) and her rather constant lying to him.

What world have we come to when demanding honesty from someone you’re romantically involved with equates to “controlling” and abusive behavior? What the actual fuck?

ZOMG! Just because we’re in a serious relationship that could one day mean us becoming financially and familially entwined doesn’t mean you can take away my right to constantly lie to your face!!1!

Oh Moffat.

Harry Potter spinoff ‘Fantastic Beasts’ began filming today — without casting a single actor of color.

hellotailor:

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, the upcoming Harry Potter spinoff movie written by J.K. Rowling, is finally underway.

With an Oscar-winning actor (Eddie Redmayne) in the lead role and Rowling in charge of the story, we were optimistic about this film living up to the Harry Potter legacy. Unfortunately, there’s one serious issue marring this otherwise exciting news: Everyone in the main cast of Fantastic Beasts is white.

The Harry Potter series is all about fighting back against bigotry and discrimination, so this lack of diversity feels worse than your average all-white Hollywood blockbuster. Not only does Fantastic Beasts exclude people of color from lead roles, but we know these characters were created by J.K. Rowling—a role model to a generation of fans across the world.
