Another image of Obi-Wan flashed in Qui-Gon’s mind. An older Obi-Wan, ready to begin the intensive path toward the trials. Soon he would be more man than boy. He would take the leap toward becoming a Jedi Knight.
Pride and sadness flooded Qui-Gon as he pictured Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi. He looked forward to the day that the two of them would work side by side as Jedi Knights, but with this thought no image came. Qui-Gon’s chest tightened. He was so proud of Obi-Wan’s path, of his achievements.
Why couldn’t he see him as a Knight? Perhaps I do not want to see the boy grow up, he thought.

Kind of embarrassed to post this cause it’s really cheesy but I wanted to try out a quick little comic… also here for easier read.
I kinda have this headcanon that padawan Qui-Gon was really an awkward, gangly type of kid when growing up. Nose slightly too big for his face, limbs everywhere, irritating teenagerhood acne, all that stuff
Tahl adores his awkwardness, of course, even though he can barely enter a room without forgetting how big he is and knocking everything over
Then one day lil’ teenage Qui-Gon heads off on a two-year-long mission with Dooku and when he gets back he looks, well, like Liam Neeson

Obi-Wan & Bant + Qui-Gon & Tahl
Bant was one of my fav charas in the Jedi Apprentice series but there’s so little art of her…understandable, drawing Mon Calamari is HARD. >.>;
I know Tahl looks quite different from her comic depiction, but this is kind of how I imagined her. I had a chat with @deadcatwithaflamethrower a while ago and we agreed that we both disliked her comic hair and outfit. I have no clue if this is how she imagines Tahl, but this is my take on (Padawan) Tahl ^ ^
(also Qui-Gon’s hair is long + in a hamster tail b/c I personally interpret the Padawan cut as encouraged but not mandatory. And well, if anyone were to ignore suggestions, it’d be Qui-Gon…)
