That turned out to be my favourite from that night. Because of the drizzle/ gunpowder smoke/ slight fog, I have almost none of the classic, crisp fireworks pics you see everyhwere, but the sky produced some incredible colours. No filter – just something looking like a little galaxy that puffed out of existence a sec later.

This is literally the perfect, most fitting sort of thing to put in the window of an Art Nouveau front like this. One of the things I enjoyed about Brussels was the Art Nouveau architecture- not something you see in Britain much.

The moon passed between ‪NASA‬’s Deep Space Climate Observatory and the Earth, allowing the satellite to capture this rare image of the moon’s far side in full sunlight. As the moon is tidally locked to the Earth and doesn’t rotate, we only ever see the one face from the Earth. Awesome shot!
