Anakin and Padmé Week | 2nd May: What scene would you have liked to have seen between the two of them in the films?
Someday I will put together ‘Padmé Edit’ versions of Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith and they will be glorious.
In regards to Anakin and Padmé’s relationship it is a tragedy that the scenes at her family home on Naboo were cut from AotC. We meet her family and they meet Anakin! The entire family ships them. And she clearly has feelings she is trying to hide and her mother and sister see right through her. It adds so much to the relationship build! Her dad has a talk with Anakin about her safety and it is like three sentences maybe and yet retroactively PAINFUL to think on. Then we get to see Padmé’s bedroom! We hear about her time as a young diplomat! She gets really emotional and it has nothing to do with anything that happens in the whole rest of the trilogy, it’s only about Padmé and her feelings and her life. And Anakin gets to see it and Padmé gets to see him surrounded by the domesticity of her home. This sequence gives so much extra weight to their romance and their life together and it should be in the film.
