All those words: rights of the people, rights of man, the social contract, the French Revolution, the Republic, democracy, humanity, civilization, religion, progress, came very near to signifying nothing whatever to Grantaire…However, this sceptic had one fanaticism. This fanaticism was neither a dogma, nor an idea, nor an art, nor a science; it was a man: Enjolras. Grantaire admired, loved, and venerated Enjolras. – Les Misérables, Volume III, Chapter I
les miserables
Did you know, you can read the original Les Mis screenplay here? It has an alternate ending which I actually like better.
ok so I know that the idea of Valjean as a timelord whose title was The Mayor with Cosette as his companion was going around a bit ago and I would just like to add
that
I think we can all agree that in such a scenario Javert would definitely be one of those rhinoceros policeman aliens.
So what you’re saying is that “Stars” would sound like:
JO, KO FLO MO PO TO
BO NO TRO DO SO RO
SKO LO GO PO HO
SKO LO GO FOAnd so on.
Who wants some Les Mis screencaps? I bet you do.

Taken from the high-res screener download that was going around. A few bits had ‘for awards consideration’ stamped over them, so I had to leave them out, but they weren’t long scenes. (A few caps each from Fantine in the hospital, Valjean and Cosette escaping Javert, Marius at Cosette’s gate and Javert surveying the carnage after the battle are the bits missing, I think.) It’s split into six- 1 2 3 4 5 6. There’s 500 caps in each file (apart for the last one.) If you’re looking for a particular scene, this handy guide may help (spoilers below)
Part one: Prologue, At The End Of The Day, The Runaway Cart, Lovely Ladies (goes up to just after Fantine has sold her teeth)
Part two: I Dreamed A Dream, Fantine’s Arrest, Who Am I/The Trial, Come To Me, The Confrontation, Castle On A Cloud, Master Of The House (goes up to Valjean and Cosette returning to the inn)
Part three: The Thenardier Waltz Of Treachery, Suddenly, Stars, Look Down, The Robbery, Javert’s Intervention, Eponine’s Errand, ABC Cafe/Red and Black (goes up to about halfway through Red and Black)
Part four: the rest of Red and Black, Rue Plumet/In My Life, A Heart Full of Love, On My Own, One Day More, Do You Hear The People Sing, Upon These Stones, Little People (goes up to Gavroche revealing Javert)
Part five: The First Attack, A Little Fall Of Rain, Night Of Anguish, Drink With Me, Bring Him Home, Dawn Of Anguish, The Second Attack, The Final Battle (goes up to Enjolras raising his flag beside Grantaire)
Part Six: (opens with a terribly heartbreaking shot of Enjolras and Grantaire dying) Javert’s Suicide, Turning, Empty Chairs At Empty Tables, Every Day/A Heart Full Of Love (Reprise), Valjean’s Confession, Suddenly (Reprise), Wedding Chorale, Beggars At The Feast, Valjean’s Death, Do You Hear The People Sing (Reprise)
Hope you enjoy and make lots of graphics.
Oh my gosh since there’s a car behind him, they weren’t filming, right? Does this mean this is how Aaron Tveit walks all the time?
#i think he’s just too into character #like the other actors would be conversing and he’s be like ‘stop this there is a revolution at hand our little lives don’t count at all’ and the actors where like ‘aaron calm down you’re not actually enjolras’ but he is #Aaronjolras

music-is-audible-emotion:In which Aaron Tveit most accurately portrays the truest of OTPs: Enjolras and his flag.
