So I was listening to Fooled Around and Fell in Love today and the first few lyrics made something click in my mind:

Who was it in Guardians of the Galaxy who did EXACTLY that?
If Awesome Mix Vol 1 was about the relationship Meredith and Ego, this was where Ego truly did fall in love with her despite everything he was doing.
It wasn’t just a romantic song for them, it was foreshadowing that Ego wasn’t what he seemed.
Drax has a picture of his wife and daughter by his bed. He keeps it there with pride and doesn’t mind talking about them in the slightest. Quill makes a comment on how he’s a family man, which earns a serious look from Drax as he says, “I am a dead family man.”
I think the Kree are supposed to be into experimenting on other races, so it wouldn’t surprise me to learn they made his first implant, maybe to ‘upgrade’ the natural ability connected to his species’ organic fins?
