perhaps i’m setting the bar a bit too low for Television Shows™ and this just needs to be Normalized but for now i am delighted that the words “gender equality” and “feminist” were used in a single Brooklyn Nine-Nine episode
Given the magnitude of the antisemitism going on around us right now this isn’t some Great Feat but my mom told me today how upset one of our friends was about the Jewish girl who got a swastika drawn on her dorm or whatever and for some reason After all this hell of the past week, that was the straw that broke the camel’s back and I’ve been genuinely upset all night, literally close to tears.
And here comes Brooklyn Nine Nine, back from the war after a month of sadness, and Jake Peralta stands up there and shuts down even the simplest act of antisemitism and I don’t think how I can describe how much that eased my heart and i just. Thank you to whoever wrote that line. I really, really needed that tonight.
I think it’s been pushed back? To the best of my understanding, there’s some Sport Event happening right now that took B99′s place last week, but apparently there’s unresolved issues in the game or something, so it’s not even over yet, and I’m not sure what kind of sport can be so entertaining that it can somehow be expected to entertain people over the span of three weeks, but…I think that’s what’s happening?
I’m starting to see how American TV shows end up being cancelled so easily
