brooklyn 99

starklinqs:

Literally you can rip bi Jake Peralta from my cold dead hands but honestly I would love if he came out because we have Captain Holt, who started the series out and not trying to hide it, and now Rosa, who’s known she’s bi for a long time but wasn’t out to family or friends, and both are amazing rep (and people of color, which is unfortunately uncommon and it makes me really, really happy to see more of us represented). But both have known that they’re queer for a long time – if Jake were to be bi we’d have 1. Another bi character who’s a main 2. A Jewish bi character (who also probably has ADHD if the twitter account is anything to go by) 3. A character who realizes that they’re Not Straight when they’re an adult, someone who didn’t always know as a child that they’re queer, but someone who discovers that as an adult and goes through it and shows that there’s not an age limit on when you come out or realize that you’re bi

And lbr this man is definitely bi @ b99 nothing bad can come from this you’ve been doing amazing sweetie and no matter what you still are but still pls let me have my bi jake peralta rep

ok but can we appreciate

crosswordtypo:

  • how rosa has probably never told her friends or family that she’s bi and brooklyn nine-nine allowed us to have a bi character who is an adult and still not completely out because closeted adults are more common than we think and that’s still ok
  • how charles apologized to rosa for making her feel pressured or coerced into coming out
  • how charles doesn’t try to make her sexuality a question and doesn’t bring up past partners as a way to invalidate rosa’s relationship, and his initial surprise when she comes out isn’t used as a excuse or cover-up for bi/homophobia
  • how charles was once obsessed with rosa but has never once been nasty towards any of her boyfriends, and he isn’t bitter that she’s dating a girl now and tells rosa she has all of his support
  • how rosa says she doesn’t want to talk about it and charles lets it go
  • how rosa diaz is a main character and has a stable job and is good at her job and is in a healthy relationship and bisexual and none of those things exclude the other
  • how supportive charles is omg!!!!! the bar scene was so pure
  • in short this episode was amazing and rosa diaz is a bisexual icon and charles is an amazing ally

Can I just say I love, love, love what happened with Charles and Rosa? Back in season one he was a total creepster to her, giving her that icky “When you finally go out with me, and you will” line, and now… he’s the first person in the squad she comes out to and he’s pleased to know she’s dating a woman and he apologises for asking so many personal questions in the first place. They’ve come such a long way! The show’s come such a long way! I’m so happy about it!
