GOF international trailer -Oh, that’s just gorgeous.

Anyway, this was supposed to be a plugging post. First, sw_eu_stills, because they need more entries. Even if you don’t read the EU (and I don’t very often) you have to admit most of the pictures are pretty. :)

Secondly, spidey__chorus, because there isn’t much of a Spider-Man fandom on LJ, and there ought to be, dangnabbit. (speaking of which, my fic over on ff.net got updated. It doesn’t get many reviews, although the ones it does get are good- I think that’s just down to the fandom, though. Like I said, there doesn’t seem to be much of one, and probably won’t be until 2007.)

notquiteanedit: Actually, I just went over the page to get the link and saw a fic right below mine that had eight chapters and 156 reviews- what am I doing wrong? Gaaaah.

Also fic-wise: I was going to post the first bit (at least) of my War of the Worlds aftermaths-of-apocolypses-are-fun fic, but I haven’t. Ummm. There doesn’t seem to be much of a fandom for that (the movie, at least) either, come to think of it. I have a feeling that’s mostly down to Tom Cruise, the silly bugger.

A reporter is coming tomorrow to interview Mum about her book. Yay. It’s still not on Amazon, though. I don’t know why…

AS results: A for English Lit, B for Film Studies, E for General Studies, let’s not go into what I got for Computing.

Gaaaaaaaaah. I’m sort of quietly panicking here- my dad says you need three A levels, not counting General, in order to go to uni, and I have no idea if he’s even right. And the day when everyone can come in to discuss their results isn’t until Monday…oh, and I just remembered about my Maths retake. Well…maybe I’ll worry about that later…

Arrrrrrrrgh.

Another Doctor Who post- this may be the fourth in a row

Alright, I was browsing around time_and_chips, and ran across discussion of the new 2006 annual and it’s various character tidbits. And there was one thing, which I’m fairly sure is by Russel T Davis, which got on my nerves somewhat (the quote was posted by doyle_sb4, hopefully they don’t mind me posting this..)-

After Rose, dating Mickey, meets Jimmy Stone- “She left Mickey, dropped out of school, moved out of home and lived in a bedsit with Jimmy Stone. Five months later she was back home, crying in Jackie’s arms, miserable, heartbroken and £800 in debt, while Jimmy was in a camper van to Amsterdam with a woman called Noosh. But Mickey Smith was waiting for Rose, patient and uncomplaining and forgiving.”

Jesus- she’s got a bit of a nerve complaining about Mickey dating Trisha while she’s been away (…in a time machine with two men for six months), hasn’t she? :|

Has anyone ever noticed the suprising amount of similarities between Doctor Who and Titanic?

No, I’m being serious. Think about it…

We start off with a girl called Rose. Her father is out of the picture and she lives with her mother. She has a boyfriend/fiancee, but she’s not happy with her life and feels trapped. In not-exactly-good circumstances, she meets a man, The Doctor/Jack. He saves her life. Her mother and boyfriend/fiancee don’t really approve of this man Rose appears to be falling for. Rose leaves her world (London/first class) to go with him. He opens up her eyes to life beyond her world, and at some point the two of them dance together. Then disaster strikes (the daleks/the iceberg) and they have to survive it. He puts her on a boat/TARDIS to keep her safe, but she comes back and they escape together. Rose’s mother thinks she might be dead. The Doctor/Jack is on the verge of dying and tells Rose to have a good life. He dies making sure she’s going to live.

The end (well, not really, but you know)

Oh, and there’s a Jack in DW as well, obviously. And mentions of an iceburg (in TEOTW). Hmmmm….

Fifth in my series of DW fic…it’s finally starting to actually vaguely come together, huzzah. For those who don’t know what it’s about, it’s about what happened to Mickey and Jackie (and assorted others) after Rose left with the Doctor, using the seriously nifty spinoff website for inspiration…

Turn Of The Earth (what do you know…I finally found the better title)
1. Not The End Of The World (Mickey after Rose) [note: it’s been revised slightly and moved to my own journal]
2. So Are You (Jackie before Aliens of London)
3. It’ll Be Alright (Trisha Delaney after AOL/WWIII)
4. Coward In Your Own Story (Mickey visits Clive’s family)

And here’s the fifth. I think it’s the one most in need of concrit- it seems sort of awkward, but it’s sort of supposed to be awkward…you know? (Oh, and I finally watched Boomtown again and remembered Trisha is said to be ‘Rob Delaney’s sister’. So he’s finally in there.)

Useless fact before we start: When I was just finishing this, the song it’s named after came on the radio all of a sudden…you know, the REM one?
