Honestly the closer we get to 2018 the less chill I am about the whole thing. 2018 sounds like we’re living in a fucking sci fi novel. It sounds completely fake. And then it’s on to 2020s like????? That’s completely impossible and I don’t believe you.
Children playing with Barbies in media:“This is Sally. She’s the mommy. She loves fashion, swimming, and she drives a convertible! She has a baby with Ken and sometimes they kiss.” OR “Look, I ripped Barbie’s head off! Ha ha ha! I’m a boy.”
Children playing with Barbies in real life: “This is Aurora, the fallen goddess of the sky. She has been banished from her kingdom and bound to a mortal body by her sister, who rose to power by human sacrifices. She now leads an army of cannibal water spirits who eat men. Sometimes they have orgies. They dismembered a traitor and keep her head on a Popsicle stick as a warning to others. Aurora can turn into a wolf and uses battle magic to paralyze her enemies. The king of the stuffed animals developed rabies and she had to slay him to save his people, but they do not understand that it was an act of mercy and kindness and are sending assassins after her for regicide. This is Aurora’s soulmate, Crystal, but her soul is trapped in a gemstone while an evil spirit pilots her body and attempts to murder her friends.”
honestly finn and rose destroying a whole town of people who got rich from supporting fascists, freeing abused animals, and inspiring a group of children to rise up against their oppressors was Iconique and a 2017 Mood™️
I’ve reblogged this before, but my GOD is it ever true.
Exhibit A:
I think all “new” adults have moments of realization like this. For my high school friends and me it was falling into a conversation at a party after we were all out of college that involved dish washer detergent and car insurance. I also got excited about bed sheets and a matching shower curtain for my birthday that year.
President Donald Trump spent part of his Wednesday morningretweeting three videos about alleged Islamist violence. One claimed to show a Muslim man destroying a statue of the Virgin Mary; another professed to have captured a “Muslim migrant” beating up a “Dutch boy on crutches,” and a third seemed to show Muslim men pushing a boy off a building.
There were two problems. First, at least one of the videos was fake; reports quickly emerged showing that the perpetrator in the video about the Dutch boy is apparently neither Muslim nor a migrant. The video of teens being pushed from a rooftop is apparently three and a half years old and took place in Egypt, during a spasm of violence following the ouster of then-Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi. At least one of the perpetrators was executed for the crime. The third video’s source remains unverified.
The much more disturbing issue is that the videos had all been originally posted by Jayda Fransen, a leader of a far-right British political party called Britain First.
She was arrested last month for appearing on neo-Nazi radio show while facing trial for causing religiously aggravated harassment. The radio show is called Radio Aryan whose tagline is “Save the Fatherland,” and the day she appeared on the station was doing a retelling of Mein Kampf. So yeah that’s the kind of person Trump is listening to & spreading info from.
