Okay, first off, I’m sure this has been done about a million times since Phantom Menace came out with the designs for Old Republic Jedi, but I figured why the hell not go ahead and reinvent the wheel. I can’t help it, their costumes are so awesome, with elements of two kinds of costume that I love, love, love: European monks and Japanese samurai.
So here is my version of samurai Jedi: Qui-Gon Jinn, Edo-styling. :) Not gonna lie, my favorite part of this drawing is the Jedi-crest mon on his haori. Oh yeah, and hair…because, hair. :D I really want to do one with Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan together, but so much effort…! (Also, Qui-Gon’s hair and costume design lends itself to samuraification better than Obi-Wan’s designs do.)
The media are pencil and inktense inks, with a touch of white acrylic.
