consider helping us for tdov?

geistwald:

yeah we arent really feeling the selfie thing for trans day of visibility today (tho all the people we’ve seen on our dash are wonderful and we’re happy for you) but we are . in need of financial assistance if you can spare it, we’re a queer/trans, neurodivergent multiple system that suffers from chronic pain and we recently escaped to college in oregon from our abusive #parents in indiana. idk if you’ve heard anything about indiana lately but even without considering our parents it’s absolutely not safe for us to go back there as queer individuals so um basically

we need money to stay here because out of state tuition, housing/food and any care for our disabilities that we might want is EXPENSIVE and even though we are seeking employment and do have some financial aid its not nearly enough to cover what we need, not to mention that we really want to get away from relying on our family for money. so if you can afford to help us…please consider donating, whatever you can chip in would help.

our paypal is asteroidea.byrd@gmail.com,

you can also commission us for braids (wearable or for decoration) on finchbraids.

thanks!

i have to pay for my room and board and school books and other fees

i don’t know how i’m going to make it through the next few years

please help if you can

Please help me save my daughter. In November of 2013 I got very sick. Before this date I was a proud single mother who wasn’t on welfare (not that there is anything wrong with that). Due to my illness and being the sole custodial parent obviously my kids missed some school. It was determined in December 2013 that I had a rare syndrome that can be caused by the flu shot or getting the flu known as an autoimmune syndrome that causes neuropathy and paralysis it is called: Guillian-Barre syndrome. My ex had taken a very not involved, hands off approach in our daughters life and wasn’t even present when she was born at 31 weeks, which is severely premature. Any, because I’m in a wheelchair and my daughter missed school because of my illness a judge called a status conference, not a hearing, and took my daughter from me and my rights to her with no proof of any of my ex’s allegations. I’ve found an attorney who can help me, but she’s expensive to retain. If you’d like a fuller version of the story go to http://www.gofundme.com/NotWithoutMyDaught and if you can donate. You can also click the picture and it’ll take you to the gofundme site where my story is. Even if you can’t donate, I thank you for your time and help in advance. Be blessed.

This is Boshra, she really needs everyone’s help in getting her story out about her battle with cancer so people can donate the money she needs in order to be able to seek treatment. This is quickly becoming an urgent matter, please take a moment to share her story in anyway you can on any social media platform. I just want to say thank you to those who have continously shown support for everything I’m trying to do, even when it’s something difficult like this. Thank you to those who have helped this young girl and helped me spread the word about her, thank you for being the people you can count on even during hard times and not just the good ones because true friendship and support extends through every obstacle. And those who have completely shown ignorance and have turned a blind eye towards my requests to help this young girl even if it meant just sharing a simple link on facebook, may Allah swt guide you and open your heart to being there for others not just when it benefits you or your image. It’s not something I wanted to comment on but I’m absolutely disheartened by the lack of support from “friends” and Boshra doesn’t need your “likes” – she needs action and people to spread the word, that’s all I’m asking for, not even donations bc I know not everyone can donate but you are all capable of sharing her story – the link is in my bio so please share when you all can! peace and be well ✌ #donate #muslims #fundraiser #health #support #medical #cancer

Still less than a fifth of the way and less than two weeks to go..

I need help. As much as I hate doing this, I’m kind of desperate.

I’ve been applying for jobs since December of 2013. I’ve not gotten a single interview and I desperately need medical attention.

I don’t know if it’s cause of how forcefully I slammed backwards on my right foot when I got hit by the car, but my ingrown toenail got infected. I can’t even touch the tip with a cotton ball without it hurting. The surgery is going to run me about $500 because I’m without insurance. I don’t know what antibiotics and anesthetics will cost, but the main cost of the surgery is my concern right now. As of now, I can’t even wear shoes because of it.

The next major issue I need to see a doctor for is  the sharp pains where period cramps usually are. I have a history of ovarian cysts, and the women in my family have a history of ovarian and cervical cancers. the pain is so bad that I sometimes can’t walk, and I end up passing out from them. I can’t go to planned parenthood, because they won’t work with people with certain types of cysts. Seeing a normal gyno can run me about $500, because of the precautions they have to take; I have to have a sonogram first, to make sure it’s okay to have a pelvic exam.

Problem is, I don’t have a job. My mom is on a fixed income and my boyfriend is paying back loans and stuff, as well as providing for the house. We just don’t have that kind of money. I don’t know what I can do in exchange for donations that would be worth it for everyone; all I’m any good at is tarot reading. That being said, the donation button is right at the top of my blog. If it doesn’t work, my paypal is linked to kdaniels92@ymail.com. I refuse to use gofundme after the issue with the Darren Wilson funding page(they wouldn’t take it down, despite the amount of hate speech filling up the page).

Anyway, thank you in advance for any donations. If you’d like a tarot reading in exchange for yours, please send me a message with the name or email you used for the donation so that I can make sure you really donated. I know that sounds a bit silly, but I’ve had people in the past tell me that they donated when they didn’t, just to get a free reading.

So I’ve had a few people make some suggestions to me about getting medical care; I do not qualify for medicaid, SNAP, or WIC. I am unmarried, childless, not on disability, and I can’t legally claim my mother as a dependent. My application for assistance programs are instantly denied because I don’t meet any of  those requirements. I volunteered at Health and Human Services for a very long time, and I know what the requirements are(nevermind my mother used to work there for 17 years before retiring 2 years ago). So that’s a suggestion that simply won’t work. I’ve fully exhausted all of my options, and asking for help here is all I can do.

Help w/ Mother’s Cancer Treatments

Our insurance provider denied coverage for my mother’s treatments.

Made a new post, since I felt there was too much text.

Long story short, I recently found out that my mother has cancer, and my mother and I need assistance to pay for her cancer treatments. We can afford about half of what it currently costs, and we’ll need to come up with another ~$40,000 to pay for everything. We’ve raised about ~$510 so far. My goal is $7000, which will cover for what we can afford for the first month and give us time to search for other options. I made a GoFundMe page, and please head there for more details!

Please donate to the GoFundMe Page instead!

Let me reiterate – our insurance denied us coverage for treatment. Please, any donations are helpful.

Thank you!

Mei’s situation hits close to home for me for a lot of reasons. If you can’t afford to contribute, please reblog. And if you can afford to contribute even a little bit, contribute as soon as possible. Please don’t put it off for later. It’s hard enough to get by in a situation this scary even when you’re financially secure. Not having what you need is just terrifying. So do a good deed and help out!

So the only all-bird rehab center in North Texas is about to shut down

I can’t even put into words how upset I am about this. Rogers Wildlife Rehabilitation has been open for almost twenty years, and is the only place in North Texas that takes in literally any type of bird if it’s been injured, orphaned, or otherwise incapacitated. They’re finally out of funds, and if they can’t come up with anything by April 2nd, they’re going to be forced to close their doors.

image

They’ve never turned away birds. Not when it’s a surprise 200 baby cattle egrets that’ve been orphaned because city planners thought they could cut down their homes and no one would notice. Not when it’s raptors with one good eye and in need of seven different antibiotics. Not even when it’s ducks that irresponsible parents won’t let their kids keep after easter. This is where anyone let me first get up close to birds. I mean, I’ve known I wanted to work with birds and wildlife since I was seven- I’m twenty four now, and halfway through an environmental science master’s and it’s a big reason I kept going.

I’ve been going to this place on and off for ten years, I was THIRTEEN when I started volunteering and seeing all the terrible things that happen to the birds that come in. Not just…hit by trucks, or caught in a hailstorm but parrots that have been left in foreclosed houses for weeks, and roosters that have come out of cock fighting rings and would otherwise be put down because the SPCA and humane societies don’t think they’re salvageable. There’s an emu that was raised there as a baby because no one wanted her. Her name’s Riley and I can’t even begin to comprehend what shutting the doors to the center would mean?

image
image

They don’t get government aid. They’ve been funded by the public donating and Kathy, the lady who owns the place, going through her retirement funds and savings and her social security to keep it running. She’s finally run out of money. Please,  just reblog? Even if you can’t donate anything- and I know it’s a lot to ask for poor teenage/college kids to donate money that they don’t have, or struggling artists I know but maybe someone who can spare something will see it eventually? They need $200,000 to keep open for a year to continue to help 4000 birds a year.
