I’m applying for subsidised housing, but I still need some help to meet my current private rent of $490/week, which is next due on Monday 16th May. I also need help with a $200 instalment for an outstanding home care invoice from 2015 that I have been unable to afford. The risk is that the home care agency could undertake debt collection procedures against me unless I recommence making regular payments.

yall i ended up havin like literally $1000 left on my meal plan because of how little i actually ate this semester and last semester (they carry over and start adding up. but if u dont use them by the end of the year u lose em) so i ended up donating like $700 worth of food to a local food bank and then buying food for everyone in line at the store on campus STILL i have money holy shit

Within the last week Canada has lost an entire city due to wild fire and it is rapidly spreading, and expected to double in size. Fort McMurray has been ablaze all week and the fire is spreading towards Saskatchewan. Attempts to put the fire out have been failing because the fire is so hot water it is evaporating before it can do any good.
Dry and extremely windy conditions are fueling the blaze, which has already scorched more than 1,560 square kilometers (602 square miles) and displaced tens of thousands of people.
These people are no longer evacuees … They’re refugees.
Rain is to be expected next week, but a downpour is needed to tame a monstrous fire – which is the size of Hong Kong and is almost 25% bigger than New York City – that has displaced about 88,000 people, wiped out 1,600 structures including homes, schools and hospitals, and sent plumes of smoke as far away as Iowa.

This shit is real. Many were given less than 15 mins to evacuate. There are videos of people fleeing the city and the smoke and flames are advancing faster than the traffic is moving. I have friends and family that have lost everything, their pets, homes, vehicles, photo albums. Please signal boost this.
Despite the fact that I am not from Fort McMurray (Alberta, Canada), but rather from a neighbouring province, I was unable to get any sleep last night due to the fact that I was too busy worrying myself sick about how the citizens of this city and surrounding areas must be feeling right now.
If you are not already aware, the entire city of Fort McMurray is currently evacuated due to blazing, horrendous wild fires. Blazes are moving quickly, leaving several of the 80 000+ citizens without homes.
Authorities say that today (Wednesday) is only going to be worse.
Homes are being lost, buildings are burning to the ground, gas stations are quickly being run dry, wildlife is dying, and the fires are spreading with every passing second due to the winds and high temperatures.
Fortunately enough, however, no casualties have been reported, and it seems as though everyone has been safely evacuated from the city at this time.
Things are not looking very good for Fort McMurray, and it breaks my heart to know that so many helpless civilians and animals will be left without homes, food, clothing, possessions, and much more. The disastrous effects caused to this major oil industry city are only beginning, and its civilians can do nothing more than to hope and pray that they will be able to return home sometime soon.

The Albertan city of Fort McMurray is in serious need right now of not only rain, but of thoughts and prayers, as well. Please, as you go on about your day today, take a moment to even do so much as message a victim of the blazing flames via social media, reassuring them that everything will be okay, or by spreading awareness of the current situation, if possible.
And for those of you who are directly affected by the wild fires who might be reading this right now, please, do know that although things might never be able to go back to how they once were, you will be able to return, and you will be able to continue to live your life with happiness and ease. It is going to take some time, but as long as you keep on keeping on, I can promise you that everything will be okay.

So I haven’t been around much lately as my health went from bad to worse. About a year ago part of my brain collapsed, a complication from a neurological condition and implants. I’ve been up and down since, affecting vision, balance, motor, memory, cognitive, and seizures, and CerebroSpinal Fluid leaks, etc. Now there’s a growing lesionand abnormal activity. And now a ventricle collapsed further and blocked the valve implant in my brain. They reset and forced it open, and watch closely. Unchecked it could kill me suddenly.
I need more dynamic imaging and video EEG to determine surgery and further treatment.It’s not covered by insurance (Medicare/Medicaid, I’m on disability). I also need oral surgery to remove wisdom teeth affecting nerves and skull. No oral surgeons take Medicare/Medicaid. It all gets worse and more dangerous every day. May 4 is the last testing appointment open for two months.
After very kind donations so far, I STILL MUST RAISE $1000 TO HAVE THIS URGENT TESTING AND CARE BY MAY 4, THIS WEDNESDAY!! Earlier this evening a pathology centre took $121 more out of my account than I had intended them to. So I only have $193.17 in savings to cover $490 in rent by 2nd May and at least $655 in outstanding rent from previous weeks. A transaction dispute through the bank will take about a month to complete and it may be completely impossible to reverse the transaction through the pathology centre (to be confirmed in the morning).
